As I looked out of the passenger window of the back seat, the melting snow glided across the glass like shooting stars. The flakes lit up as we passed under Streetlights. We where on our way home from my grandparents house, it was Christmas Eve. Being only thirteen years old with a full belly of grandmas cooking, I began to doze off. I've been having strange dreams lately, thinking they where childish I kept them to myself, but I have never been so wrong in my life...

As my eyes shut on one world, they opened in another. One filled with pain and horror. It seemed like a frozen forest. The thing is, it wasn't cold I couldn't see my breath but it was snowing, or was it? There where trees so thick you couldn't see very far but they where burned down and splintered and the floor of this "frozen forest" was covered in a white powder that seemed to be on everything. Crows picked apart what was left of the feral untamed wild life. I could hear a distant river or ocean or was it my mind filling in the absence of sound this forest seemed to be filled with! My vision started to fade in and out, I think I'm going to faint...what was trees turned to black blurred lines, a figure seemed to move between these lines until it was right in front of me. I felt a sharp searing pain in my eyes and ears, then there was a voice. It was so close but felt very distant, I couldn't understand it but I could hear it. I could hear the seriousness in its tone. There was another pain but this time it engulfed my entire body, my vision blacked out and my eyes opened in the other world. I had to use the lavatory so I drug myself out of my bed and made my way to the door, I opened it ever so slowly so it didn't make a noise. Didn't need to wake mom and dad, shutting it behind me I heard the metallic ping of it shutting. Slowly I made my way down the hall to the lavatory. Relieved to make it there, I shut the door behind me and did my business.

As I finished up I heard a large booming noise and it was getting closer; I shut the lights off and sat against the door. Completely shutting down in fear of what was to come. It stopped and I heard it go back down the stairs and then there was nothing but the sound of silence. In fear I went back to my room as fast as I can. Through the open door and jumped into bed pulling the sheets over my head. Wait...I closed the door and it shut behind me. It couldn't of opened by itself. My heart was fixing to burst from my chest!

My breathing was out of control. Thomas you have to calm down, you have to! Its nothing you imagined it! You're still sleeping! This never happened!

I shut my eyes tight and slowly lifted the blanket, and opened one eye. What I seen can NEVER be unseen. On the pale white wall in front of me was splattered in this disgusting red goop, it cant be. I pushed that painful thought from my mind and my vision was still adjusting from being in the lavatory lights. As my vision focused in on the wall. I could clearly see the words in red, but before that I seen my mom sitting in the chair at my little play table her nightgown was red. Quite strange I thought she wore a white one tonight. I followed her body up to her eyes and they weren't there. Instead she had hallowed sockets that seemed to be crying red tears, and there was my dad across from her. The same thing to him, I then focused on the writing in red. It read as follows...

"I know you are not sleeping, and I know you heard me. Your parents are dead and you will be too"

As if it couldn't be possible my heart hit light speed and I could actually hear it pulsate! My breathing was completely out of control! My mind went blank and I screamed out

"YOU MONSTER! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO THEM! YOU WONT GET AWAY WITH THIS!"

I got up and bolted out of my room, down the hall and down the stairs. I could hear what ever the hell this thing was chasing after me. So clumsy I thought this thing was. I could hear it bounce from side to side in the hallway. I made it down the stairs and turned to the left going through the living room. This "thing" smashed into the wall at the bottom of the stairs. I looked to see what it was and my god, what was this thing, It wasn't human and wasn't like any animal I have ever seen before! My dad traveled a lot and I've been to every zoo on the west coast. It could have been seven foot tall easy. Built like a bear but had no fur. Blacker than the night and as it stood up looking me dead in my eyes, it had no mouth. Just a nasty, ugly scar.

I took off opening the front door and sprinted down the driveway. Man was this thing clumsy. It must have fell again but I was not stopping this time. I saw enough to keep going and never fucking look back. I sprinted from the driveway to the forest across the street; but I failed to remember the bit of a drop before the woods, and it was so dark out I couldn't see a thing. I must have hit my head on the way down because I felt a warm liquid running down my face but I couldn't stop now. Whatever that thing was, it was still after me. The sound of it hitting trees echoed through the forest like a gunshot at a rifle range. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, the lower branches hitting my face and shoulders hurt like knives. I can not stop if this "thing" catches me lord knows what it'll do to me for getting this far away from it. Wait a minute this forest looks familiar. I have been here before but the trees where so much taller now. The ground seemed clear of what ever that powder was. Wait. That thing. The figure. Oh no it cant be.

The sun was now just over the trees and I could see well in front of me, but this thing was still after me. There was a clearing up ahead and I intended to find a way to turn around.

Once I got to the clearing I seen a giant tree with large roots coming out of the ground and, I ran just a bit faster and slid under the root. My god did that hurt but it gave me enough time to turn around and see this "thing", that was a mistake on my part. It must have gotten taller or was it just me lying down on the frozen ground. It had black matted fur all over it but its face, it had a nose similar to a human or you could even say vuldamort. Its mouth looked as if it was sown shut many many years ago, as it was merely just a scar. I think it couldn't see me because it was looking franticly under rocks and behind rusting cars. This I guess used to be the old high school of '93 that has long since closed down.

Oh no, not again. My vision started to blur and the trees began to look like the other world and that thing disappeared and my vision went black. I blinked my eyes furiously trying to see again, and when my vision came back. I was there again in that god forsaken world of I don't even know what this could be!

This powder or dust or ash or whatever seemed to never stop falling! I was in the same spot as before but now it was the other world. Quickly getting to my feet I began to run again. I knew just on the other side of this clearing was the shopping center, but when I got there. Jesus Christ I wish I never did...
