It wasn't there, like it was just gone. There was not even a trace of the foundation. No walls or rebar, not even the parking lot. I hid behind the thickest tree I could find and just barley peeked around it and what I seen took my breath away and sent my heart racing. There where giant mobs of that that thing. Not only where there mobs of them but they actually had an order. They where perfectly lined up around this giant metal pillar, or was it a pillar? Seeing all of this got me a bit light headed so I decided to turn around and sit down wow was that a big mistake.

As I turned around I immediately seen it. That thing was behind me the whole time. It didn't lose sight of me, it never lost me, and I was never free. I stood leaning against the tree with my legs slightly bent at the hips and looked it straight in the eyes.

"JUST FUCKING KILL ME ALREADY, I CANT DO THIS ANYMORE!" I said with a booming serious tone.

It didn't have a mouth so I didn't expect it to reply to me. Man was I wrong

I began to speak but it was not of my will. It made me speak. It literately made me speak. This thing could control me. It let me get away, and it killed my parents. It let me run. It hunted me down for the fun of it, and leads me straight to its colony. So here I am staring it dead in its pale grey eyes, and it made me speak.

"Who am I, you ask" when I spoke these words they came out so soft and evil.

"I am simply a scout, nothing more nothing less."

I tried to run but I couldn't. I couldn't move. Am I next? Is this it? It's going to kill me like mom and dad. I have to get away I can't let this happen. I just-I just fucking can't...

It then made me speak again...
it started with a hysterical laugh of insanity, which turned into words and throughout them and as it spoke my vision began to fade in and out.

"(Laugh that fades to words) You will never get far child, (insane laugh that carries to words) did you honestly think you could get away? Or even for a second think you lost me? (Another cynical laugh of hysteria that fades into seriousness) It doesn't matter how far you run or how well you hide, the colony will hunt you down, but as of now...we are letting you go to tell this tale of horror and you will see us again in time"

That thing went from a standing creature to a black blob of smeared color surrounded by what was trees but turned into black lines. My vision finally went black as he finished his...what I could assume to be a... "See you later"

When my vision finally came back to me I was in the other world but still in the same spot as before and that thing was gone. Out of curiosity I turned around ever so slowly and peaked around the thick tree I was leaning against. To my surprise the colony was gone and so was the metal pillar, and the shopping center was there again. The "snow" was gone. The walk home was very quiet...outside of my mind that is. Inside was a whirlwind of emotions and memories playing over and over again. Only to be broken by the sound of tree branch snapping. My legs are killing me so I leaned against a tree slightly bent at the hips resting my hands on my knees. Once I was sure I could carry on I started to walk, my head still down just a bit. I heard a tree branch snap and it echoed through the forest. I looked up as fast as I can, and as I did I saw a figure duck behind a tree. Then another figure did the same thing a few tree's over, and slowly one by one barrels to guns I suppose popped up next to multiple trees. I counted at least seven, maybe more. I couldn't tell very well my vision was still a bit fuzzy. The black figures slowly made their way to me, and they all took a knee besides one of them who grabbed a walkie-talkie muttering into it...I couldn't make out what he said. Moments later a rawboned and lanky man in a old grey suit made his way through the men in black suits. He leaned down to meet my gaze.

"Quite the night you've had Mr. Gravity, aye?"

His voice was soft and sweet yet horse, like a child with a cough. Being ever so annoyed with todays events, just wanting to go home. I answered in an unintentional smart remark.

"Can I just go the hell home...please"?

He replied just as sweet as before.

"Sure thing son, just come with us."

One of the men in black then came forward with what I could assume would be handcuffs. The man in the suit held out his arm stopping him.

"Those wont be necessary."

"Yes sir." He replied almost immediately."

Mr.Grey I guess I could call him for now. He then turned to the men behind him.

"Back to the vehicles, we're headed out."

He turned back to me and ever so gently placed his hand on my shoulder, bent down to meet my eyes.

"we're going somewhere to talk this over... I know, that you know what it is I am talking about."

Mr.Grey then led me to the street by the super mall. When we got to the street there where multiple black SUV's and one silver luxury Sudan. He nicely opened the passenger door for me and I sat down, he then closed the door as nicely as he opened it. As I was putting my seatbelt on he turned to talk to what I could assume was the one in charge of the men in black. They spoke for a while but I couldn't hear much of what they said. Mr. Grey got in the car and put his seatbelt on and turned the key in the ignition. All of the vehicles took to the road at the same time and kept a steady slow pace to a destination I don't really even know where it is yet...as we drove I began to doze of but this time I actually went to sleep. My dreams scattered and I don't remember them all to well.
