Walking outside of your apartment building was always refreshing for you. Everyday was just a new page, no matter what.
However, you never expected a new character.
It had rained the night before, so you're being extra careful in the muggy atmosphere as you walk to town; you didn't want to ruin your clothes, since you have to attend a friend's party later. You walked past all of the shops, not stopping to glance at a single thing. You knew yourself, and you knew that if you looked at anything then you were bound to buy it, even if it was something completely useless to you; buying it in hopes of finding someway to bring use to it.
Giving up on something wasn't what you believed life was for.Upon your walk you had a sudden wish.
For an umbrella.
It wasn't supposed to rain today, according to the weather channels, however Mother Nature had something different in mind.
You quickly ran to the closest road-side shop and stood underneath its awning.
'I just wanted to buy my friend some shoes for her birthday tonight. Why does the weather have to be against meeeee?!' You thought. You sighed. 'Too bad I don't control the weather.'
You decided to wait it out a bit, seeing as there was no other option for you at the moment.
You bit your lip, daydreaming by the seemingly cliche setting you were currently in. A rainy day in which you don't have an umbrella, and you run to the closest place of shelter, where a handsome stranger would then put their umbrella over you to walk you to your destination without being wet.You looked around you.
No one in sight.
Of course, you never expected anything like that to happen, even though the thought is nice.
You began to think that getting up early was a bad idea, no one really was at the stores yet, only the workers were here.
'I'm not going to make conversation with them that's too weird, because I might buy things from the store just no no no.'To be honest, you weren't too uncomfortable with strangers, it's just you were careful to not make your future experiences awkward creating unnecessary conversations with people.
You shudder from the chill the rain gave to the area, and looked forward.
With your eyes widening, you dared to do something stupid, as most would say.You ran out into the pouring rain.
Even though the rain was strong enough to make things blurry, you could still see a small brown creature there in the road. Having confirmed of it you ran a bit faster.
'That poor little thing!'Once you reached where it stood you were completely drenched. There's wasn't a space on you that wasn't soaked from the rain.
"Hey little guy," you said to the puppy and reaching out your hands. "I'm gonna help you, babyyyy.""Gr...grrrrrr!"
"Yah nooo don't growl at meee,"you whined while quickly picking up the puppy despite the growl it gave.
You stood up, quickly putting the puppy in your jacket and ran back, water splashing with every step.
It seemed like a much longer distance once you were running back, but once you got there you sighed, both in relief and regret. You unzipped your jacket and held the small dog in your arms, as if he were yours.
"A cute puppy like you must have an owner right?"
He licked your hand repeatedly as you thought of what to do next."How am I supposed to find your owner in the rain," you told the puppy in a baby voice.
You just rocked him in your arms while you stood, and you looked up to see the rain just as it was a while ago.
