Chapter 8: I'm always here

Naruto groaned in pain as he started to open his eyes, but quickly closed his eyelids and tried to adjust to the light. But after a moment his eyelids adjusted and he quickly checked his surroundings. "White walls, white ceilings, white floors and a white bed... Yep I knew it, I'm in THE DAMN HOSPITAL!!!", he shouted in mock sorrow.

Throwing the blankets off of him, Naruto jumped out of the bed casually walking to the door, before raising his foot and kicking it open.

CRASH

Looking over at the medical wing, everyone saw Naruto casually walking out with his hands in his pockets with a look of serious thought on it.

Making his way over to his grandfather, Naruto sat down on a stool turning to his grandfather.

"Jiji, were are they?", he asked staring him in the eyes.

Sighing softly, Makarov nodded his head toward the guild doors.

"They just left my boy.", he said looking for any visible movements.

Nodding his head in thanks, Naruto slowly stood up walking towards the guild doors. Turning around and giving everyone a small sad smile, he left with a little wave before he put his hands in his pockets.

(With Konoha group)

"So this is it? Were just going to leave him? He belongs with us!", a pink haired girl protested glaring at a silver haired man.

Giving her a glare, he ran his fingers through his hair.

"Sakura, now's not the time, this is where he belongs, he has family here. His real family.", the man responded harshly.

About to protest, she was cut off as a voice rang through the air.

"Hey guys! Wait!".

Turning around, they saw the very person they were talking about running towards them waving.

Stopping in front of them, Naruto bent over with his hands on his knees trying to catch his breath.

"Looks like this is the last goodbye.. Huh?", Naruto stated sadly.

Slowly nodding, they all looked up with tears in their eyes, save for Sasuke.

"You know, I always thought of you guys as my family.. Even after everything...", pausing, Naruto took a deep breath. "I still love you guys, and I'll always be here for you. No matter what.", He stated before he was tackled into a bone crushing hug by Sakura who was sobbing into his chest.

"I-I'm so sorry! I-If I would have treated you better as kids, none of this would've happened. I was angry and scared. I shouldn't have blamed you for their deaths! You couldn't help it. I'm so sorry Naruto!", she sobbed into his chest hiccupping after every sentence.

Rubbing his finger through her hair, he started rubbing circles on her back whispering soothing things into her ears.

(Guild)

"Gramps! Shouldn't we follow him?", Natsu asked concerned for his big brother.

"Yeah, as much as I don't like flame brain here, I agree.", Gray stated earing a glare from Natsu.

Roaring in agreement, the guild started leaving the guild in search of their friend.

Staring at there backs, Makarov jumped off the bar counter and followed the rest of his family.

'Cheeky brats. Always looking out for each other.', Makarov stated with a smile on his face.

(Konoha Group and Naruto)

Nodding into his chest, Sakura slowly untangled herself and stood up helping her ex teammate who accepted the help.

Seeing her step back, Naruto looked at each of them and smiled a sad smile, which they all returned.

Hearing running footsteps behind him, Naruto looked over his shoulder as a small smile formed on his face as he saw the guild coming to give him support.

Turning back to them, Naruto walked forwards as the girls rushed up to him, giving him hugs as the guys gave him a firm handshake with teary smiles.

Lastly, Naruto and Sasuke walked toward each other making everyone tense.

"So. This is it, huh?", Sauske asked with a frown.

Forming a frown of his own, Naruto nodded.

"Yeah, looks like it is.", He stated not really knowing what to say.

Chuckling, Sasuke looked up at his cousin with tears in his eyes.

"What happened to us?", Sauske asked chuckling to himself looking at the groun=d.

Giving his own chuckle, Naruto shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't know. I guess were only kids who lost our way?"

Slowly nodding, a small smile appeared on his face as he looked up.

"Yeah, so I guess this is it huh? I'll see you on the other side.", Sasuke chuckled trying to hid his tears as he turned away.

Taking a step forward, he was suddenly turned around as two finger found there way to his forehead. Looking up, he saw Naruto smiling at him with an astral version of Itachi smiling down at him.

"Hey now. Don't cry you big baby. Don't think of it as the end of a book. Our story is just beginning. Lets close the door to the past, and open the door to our future, take a deep breath, step on through, and lets start a new chapter in our life.", Naruto stated softly as he brought Sauske's forehead to his.

"And remember, no matter how far away you are, We'll always be family.... And I'll always love you.... Cousin.", He said softly as he brought him into a hug as Sasuke sobbed on his shoulder.

Looking at the two in front of them, every one was openly crying at the show of affection.

'No matter what has happened, you always find a way to forgive. You're just like your father in so many ways.', Kakashi and Makarov thought with smiles.

Pulling back from the hug, both uchihas firmly grasped each others hand. Nodding to one another. Naruto stepped back as Sasuke made his way to the group as everyone put their hand on Kakashi.

"This is goodbye Naruto.. Promise you'll come see us. It doesn't have to be now.. But please. Come visit. Everyone will miss you.", Kakashi stated.

Not getting a response, Kakashi sighed and activated his Mangekyou Sharingan.

'KAMUI'

Getting sucked into the vortex, they all saw the last glimpse of Naruto before they saw his mouth utter two words that made their eyes widen and smiles to adopt their faces.

"Believe it.", Naruto whispered as a tear rolled down his cheek.
