Tate's POV
The ambulance bounced on the rocky, dirt road. Tate sat by Jason's stretcher where paramedics worked desperately to stop the bleeding in his abdomen. He was pretty beat up and bloody everywhere from tumbling down the splintering, old steps.
When Tommy had thrown him across the room into the wall, Jason had cut up his back. Bruises were forming. His broken shoulder was bruised really badly and was sitting at a slightly odd angle. Tate winced as the paramedic next to her started wrapping the gozz around the cut on her arm.
Tate was pretty beat up too but Jason was in way worse shape. A painful groan sounded beside her. Looking over, she saw Jason's head move slightly. He opened his mouth and shut it again. He still hadn't opened his eyes though.
"Tate." The word was quiet and slurred, "Tate!" Louder this time. His eyes flew open. His face contorted into a mass of pain as he tried to sit up. The paramedics held him down by his arms.
"Hey, it's okay. Tate's okay." One said.
He calmed down and they started working on him again, "Alright kid." Another paramedic said, putting some kind of liquid on a clean cloth, "This is going to hurt, but it will help stop the bleeding. Okay?"
Jason nodded slowly. A cry ripped out his throat as they put the cloth on his abdominal wound. His back arched and he shook. Sweat covered his body and mingled with the blood. Falling onto his back, he breathed really heavily and his eyes rolled back into his head.
