The first thing Jason noticed was the aching in his stomach. It was like a dull throbbing after coming out of a bad headache. His ears were ringing slightly. All over his body ached. Groaning, he opened his eyes. He heard a small gasp to his left. The light hurt his eyes too much to open them fully.
His head started throbbing. He groaned again. Jason felt a hand lightly touch his arm. He turned his head and opened his eyes as much as he could. Tate stared down at him. He opened his mouth to say something but Tate cut him off.
"No Jason. Save your energy." Her eyes were wet and slightly red. Jason knew she had been crying. A goss bandage covered one of her cheeks and she had her arm wrapped and bandaged.
Jason looked at himself now. His shoulder was in a cast as was his right leg. He lifted up his hospital gown carefully. His torso and chest were bandaged. One part was slightly more padded than the others. Bruises covered a lot of his other leg. He flashed back to when Tommy had yanked him down the stairs and then tried to kill him.
He could still feel the knife sliding seamlessly through him. He let his head fall back onto the pillow. Hot tears rolled down his cheeks.
"Tate." Jason muttered quietly. She looked at his face, "Tate. Are you okay?"
A look of slight amusement rolled across her face and then vanished, "I'm fine Jason. It's you everyone is worried about."
"What happened after I blacked out?"
Tate hesitated, "Well your dad showed up just as Tommy's knife hit home and he already had ambulances on the way and such when..." Tate stopped abruptly and tears formed in her eyes, "When he found Alyssa and Jackson. They looked awful Jason. They wer-"
"I know Tate. I found them when Tommy separated us. I know."
Horror spread across Tate's face, "You saw them? How did you get back inside?"
Jason nodded his head and he grit his teeth as a new wave of pain flares through him, "I-I don't know Tate."
A doctor walked in, "You are lucky your alive." He said, "We just got a call. The Norton house just after you two were taken away burned down. They said that the man who tried to kill you lit it so he didn't have to go to jail. He died in the fire."
The doctor finished whatever he was doing and left.
"What man?" Jason asked.
"Cover up story." Tate whispered smiling slightly. Jason nodded smiling as well.
"Your so beautiful Tate." He said stroking her face with his thumb and cupping her face with his hand. Tate blushed deeply.
He pulled her closer. Their lips met. Warmth flooded through Jason as Tate kissed him back. Her hair fell slightly causing a veil to form around them.
Jason pulled back slightly, "I love you Tate."
"I love you Jason."
