Matt had no doubt when the journalist said Daisy's name that it was true, that Daisy had been the one to tell the newspapers and not Jasmine. How could he have gotten it so wrong? He accused the woman that was pregnant with his child of such a horrid thing, shaming not only her but himself too. Not only that but he put her under more stress than she needed to be, she was pregnant, she needed to be under as little stress as possible.
Karen turns to Matt, one eye brow raised, an I-told-you-so expression written all over her. She lifted her hand a whacked him around the back of his head. Out of the corner of his eye Matt could see Arthur shaking his head. Now both of his friends were even more mad at him then they were before.
Matt, Karen and Arthur left The Sun main office building, Matt's head hung low in shame, as he whipped out his cell and called for a taxi, he needed to get round to Jasmine's as soon as possible to apologise, what he did was foolish and the sooner he let her know how much of a prat he'd been to accuse her the better.
"If I were her I'd knee you where it hurt for that accusation, I'm actually surprised she didn't." Karen said bluntly, as they waited outside for Matt's taxi.
"Thank Karen, I am a guy you know, trust me, I know he deserves punishment, but that is severe." He said, cringing at the thought of the punishment.
"Arthur." Karen said, he tone one of warning.
"Shutting up now." He said, doing a zip sign with his hands.
"Look, I know I was wrong, and I'm going to apologise." He said
"Yeah, you better, she's cried way too much for a lifetime in the last few weeks." Arthur said in a protective older brother tone.
Just then the taxi pulled up and Karen all but pushed Matt into the taxi. She told the driver Jasmines address before Matt even had a chance to speak, which he annoyed him a little because he was going to go to Jasmine's anyway.
On the way there Matt thought about the last few months, he still couldn't believe that he was going to be a daddy soon. Daddy. He thought, what a beautiful word that his, his child would soon be calling him that, shouting it from across the playground, or whispering it with a goodnight. Suddenly he couldn't wait for his child to come, just so he could see his baby. He felt the grin on his face as he thought about his child.
Before he knew it he was outside Jasmine's apartment block, he could hardly believe he'd gotten there that fast, The Sun offices were on the other side of town. He got out of the taxi, a wave of fear hitting him. He knew she was still going to be angry from earlier, she'd probably be cursing the day she met him.
He walked up to her apartment briskly, knocking on the door and waiting in anticipation for the anger that would follow when she opened it, which she did only seconds later.
"Sorry, no jerks allowed." She said, attempting to close the door again, only to have it blocked by his foot.
"Please." He requested.
"Fine." She said, vehemently, opening the door wider as to allow him entrance.
He followed her into the apartment, allowing her to sit down before he followed suit, sitting directly opposite her so he could see her face properly. She was angry. Uh oh. He thought, he was definitely in the lions cage about to be chewed up and eaten for breakfast. If looks could kill, he'd be a skeleton by now.
"Shoot." She said, raising an eyebrow
"I'm sorry." He muttered quietly.
"I just ignore the fact that I could barely hear your 'apology' because I can't believe you think an apology would fly with me." She said, with narrowed eyes.
"Yes?" He said, more of a question than a statement.
"Get out." She said, pointing to the door.
"Come on, Jasmine, you're all the same, anything for a story, that's what you-" He said, getting cut off by Jasmine before he could finish.
"I am not a reporter, I am a writer." She said, getting louder with every word, and shouting the word 'reporter'.
"Will you please calm down, you're pregnant, you don't need the stress." He said, worried for the baby.
"Well stop putting me under so much then." She screamed.
"Jasmine, calm down." He said, standing up,
"Get out. Now." She said, following his action and then storming towards the door and throwing it open, before coming back in the room and pushing him out and locking it so he could return.
He knocked on the door a few times and called her name, but he then realised it was no point, there was no way she'd let him back in. He promised himself he wouldn't argue, and like the moron he was, he argued, it was just all the baby stuff was making him crazy. He used to be such a straight forward person before this woman came into his life. She made him say and do things that he wouldn't normally do, they'd always had a weird type of relationship, especially before pregnancy when they'd been in competition. He remembered the time she put mustard in his show during the filming of one of the episodes, and when he put it on, he'd had a nasty surprise, not that he didn't find it funny when he thought about it now, she had a wicked mind.
He didn't want to argue with her anymore, he couldn't, not when she was coming along with her pregnancy, he wouldn't do anything to risk his baby. Instead of arguing with her, he should be uniting with her. Uniting. A thought popped into his head, one that could solve all his problems. If he united with her, in the most common way possible, it might not stop all the arguments, but it would surely put an end to most of them. He had to do it, for his baby's sake, he also didn't mind repeating how they made the baby, he couldn't deny he found her pregnant body sexy, he filled with lust when he saw her.
Yes, that was what he would do, he'd ask her out, make her his girlfriend. He have to beg her forgiveness first, of course, but he would get her to be his, he had to, for his child.
