We talked for hours at that diner. Turns out Cole loves music almost as much as i do.. Almost. He plays guitar as I prefer the viola. Surprisingly he likes Melanie Martinez...I mean he just doesn't seem like a guy who would. And he loves to write..myself I'm more of a quotes person but I like a short story here and there.
"Come on! You're kidding! You did not climb up a tree and make him think that he's gonna die!" Cole says laughing.
"Did too...and it was hilarious," I take a sip of my Starbucks as we walk by a moonlight pond.
"You just don't seem like someone who would do that," he says
"What kind of person do I seem like to you?" I ask
"You seem like someone who loves their comfort zone...someone who hates to disagree too strongly against anyone you're not close with....hmmmm someone who has more of a quiet beauty that can only be seen by people who take a second to find it. The person who can be childish yet mature," he adds "now what about me?"
"Arrogant first comes to mind," I laugh but continue,"you seem like someone who would go farther than then the finish line to get a point across or to get your way it's a superpower almost, you seem like someone who seems not to smart on the outside but goes deeper than the grand canyon-for example your writing and poems,"
He stops us under this tall tree where there's a blanket layer out with little lights around the branches
"Do you like it?" He asks
"Love that it proves my point," I smirk and walk away to the blanket and sit down.
"Very funny Lay," he chuckles
"Your laugh is funny," I giggle.
"And yours isn't?"
"Well at least I don't snort," I laugh
"I do not!"
"Do too!" I argue and jump up as he chases me around the tree and when he isn't looking I jump into the tree.
He doesn't see me as I watch him(yes I know creepy) circle the tree confused as I had disappeared into thin air.
"Dang, and to think I thought this was going well just to find out she wanted to leave-and did. Good job Cole...you messed it up with your soul mate," he says to himself.
I jump down from the tree right in front of him and kiss him. I'm so glad my soul mate was my first kiss. Honestly this moment couldn't be better.
"You thought I left?" I asked when we pulled away.
"Yeah..."
"I would never," I kiss him one last time as he walks me home our fingers entangled.
