Chapter 4

Lucas's POV
I walked up the stairs with Maddie's stuff, I felt like shit for yelling at her. She did nothing wrong, maybe I should slow it down a bit, get to know her. God she probably thinks i'm some kind of fuck boy. What am I doing? I dropped her stuff down on the floor and took a deep breath. I ran back down the stairs to see Maddie leaning against my door.
"You're not gonna try to leave again are you?" I asked

"No" she mumbled under her breath

"Can I show you something?" I offered my hand out to her

She took my hand and lead her up to my balcony. I climbed up to the roof and boosted her up. She sat beside me, but she kept her distance.
"I messed up.." I said

She looked over at me with a confused face.

"I shouldn't have kissed you that first time. I'm sorry" I looked over at her with pleading eyes, she wasn't even looking at me

"I want to start over. Please" I came closer to her. She looked over at me and nodded not saying a word.

"Okay" she cracked a slight smile as she whispered.

I smiled gleefully and scooted back to my original spot

"Isn't it pretty up here?" I looked over to the horizon

"It definitely is" her voice was stronger and easier to hear now. It's good

I cleared my throat and stuck my hand out.

"Hey, I'm Lucas" I smiled

"Maddie" she shook my hand and smiled.
She looked so beautiful when she smiled.
But I couldn't say that, it would ruin everything, but it was nice restarting, make everything better and fix the mistakes I made.

I looked at Maddie looking at the horizon of the land and her eyes were like crystals, except brown, but they were still so beautiful. Her small nose with a tiny stud in it. And her skin was the most soft and clear, she looked like an angel. But I can't do anything about it.
After about five minutes of silence she looks over at me.

"Do you wanna go for a skate?" She asked.

I looked over at her with a smile, "yes, I'd love to."
She grasped my hand and we jumped off the roof back downstairs. She put her shoes on and we headed out to my garage where I could get my penny board as she turned the corner to the front door and got hers.

Her penny board had pink stripes on it with the base colour of a light blue. I looked down at mine that had almost the exact same style just with black stripes and a dark red base colour. We laughed as we both looked at each other's penny boards.

I closed the garage and we hopped on our penny boards.

"Where do you wanna go?" I asked

"I don't know. Where do you wanna go?" She smiled

I looked up in a thinking way and my eyes lit up as the perfect place just popped up into my head.

"I know where to go" I have a smile back.

Her face turned confused almost as if she wanted to ask where but I was already pushing my board down the street.
I looked back to see her catch up to me and she looked me in the eye with an evil smirk on her face.

"Let's race" she said quietly

I laughed silently.

"Challenge accepted" I smiled

We both started to push our boards as fast as we could, speeding down the street I looked over at her, her hair was flowing in the wind and she was smiling like she never has before.

As I was caught up in looking at Maddie's features, I didn't notice that there was a truck heading straight for us, we had swerved onto the road while going so fast we couldn't stop ourselves, I felt an urge to push her out of the way.

I violently pushed Maddie out of the way. Off the road as I stared at the truck coming at me I couldn't think of anything else but Maddie's cries. Then everything went black.

// I know this was a short chapter but I thought it was pretty dramatic// I'll be writing the next chapter right after this one.//
