"Liam, should we try for a baby?" Niall asked as the couple made food in the kitchen.
"I guess we could," Liam said. "I'm sure we could handle a baby now."
"Good. I really am ready for a baby."
"What do you say we meet in the bedroom after dinner?" Liam said.
"Okay." Niall internally squealed before going back to his cooking.
During dinner, all Niall could think about was about was that they were going to have a baby to raise.
Once dinner was done and cleaned up, Niall ran upstairs, Liam following close behind.
*skip smut because my smut writing skills fucking suck shit*
Niall laid his head on Liam's chest as they both panted. Liam ran his hands through Niall's damp hair.
They both looked up when Liam's pager beeped on Liam's nightstand. Liam reached over to grab it. "Oh nine-one-one call. Gotta go."
Liam rushed over to his closet and threw on his scrubs. "I'll be home later." He kissed Niall's forehead before running out.
Niall laid back on the bed and stared at the ceiling.

"Suction," Liam said as he covered up a part of the exposed heart. All the doctors looked up quickly as the heart monitor started beeping quickly before flat lining. "He's crashing. Push one of epi and start CPR."
Doctors scrambled around to do everything while Liam started massaging the heart. "Come on come on."
A nurse brought over a heart defibrillator. Liam put the paddles against the man's heart. "Charge to three hundred. Clear!"
It zapped his heart but it still didn't start pumping. The overwhelming sound of the flat lining echoed the room. "Charge three fifty. Clear!"
Still nothing. Liam stared at the open heart before staring to pull off his equipment. "Time of death, nineteen thirty three." (8:33pm)
Liam walked out of the OR to be greeted by a nurse. "Dr. Payne, your grandfather has just passed."
Liam started running down the hallway to his grandfather's room. When he entered, a few men were putting a sheet over his dead body. "What happened?"
"Heart attack," one of the guys said. "By the time the nurse got here it was too late."
"Why didn't someone page me?"
"He was already dead by the time the first nurse was in here," the guy said. Liam moved aside as the two men pushed the bed out of the room.
"I have to go I'm back at the room," came a woman's voice from behind Liam. Liam turned around to see his grandmother. "Liam? Is everything okay?"
He shook his head slightly. His grandmother looked behind him to see no bed. "Where is he? Is he in surgery?"
Liam shook his head again. "Oh no..."
"I'm sorry." She started sobbing as Liam embraced her in a hug. "They told me that he had a heart attack and was gone by the time a nurse got here."
"But..." She looked at Liam. "He was fine twenty minutes ago..."
"Things happen. They should have paged me. I'm sorry."
