"Remind me again why we thought a car chase would be a good idea?" I question. "Faster?" Scott questions. "Much faster." Stiles instructs. "We are all going to die a slow painful death." I state. Kate is gaining on us very fast. "Scott I don't think you're grasping the concept of a car chase here." Stiles says. "If I go faster, I'll kill us." Scott replies. "Well if you don't go faster they're gonna kill us." Stiles sasses. Kate turns and stops chasing us. Stiles turns on the radio. "All units, suspect is on foot heading into the Iron Works." An officer informs. We drive to Derek right in time and he hops in the front seat.

"What part of laying low don't you understand?" I question. "Dammit! I had him!" Derek yells. "Who the alpha?" Scott questions. "Yes he was right in front of me! The freaking police just showed up!" Derek shouts. "They're just doing their jobs." Stiles interjects. "Yeah, thanks to someone who decided to make me the most wanted fugitive in the state." Derek says. "Can we seriously get past that? I made a dumbass mistake, I get it." Scott replies.

"How did you find him?" I ask. "Can you try to trust us for at least half a second?" Scott questions. "Yeah all of us, or just him. I'll be back there." Stiles interrupts. I give his shoulder a squeeze.  "Look last time I talked to my sister, she was close to figuring this thing out. She found 2 things. The first was a guy named Harris." Derek explains. "Our chemistry teacher? Why him?" Stiles asks. "I don't know yet. The second was some kind of symbol." Derek answers. He shows us a drawing of Allison's necklace. "What you know what it is?" Derek asks. "Yeah I've seen it on a necklace. Allison's necklace." Scott replies.

Once we are far enough from the scene, Scott pulls the car over. Derek is dropping us off at our house, Stiles' Jeep is in our driveway. "Where have you even been staying?" Scott asks. "There is an abandoned subway station nobody goes to." Derek replies. "I'll try to get the necklace. Lay low for now." Scott instructs. Derek drives away, and Scott goes inside. I grab Stiles' hand and walk him to his Jeep. "I'll see you tomorrow." Stiles says. "Of course. I could never miss your first game." I reply. We kiss and he hums in response. I start laughing. "What?" He questions. "You're just adorable." I explain. "That doesn't make me feel manly at all." Stiles states. "It's true though!" I exclaim. "You're the adorable one babe." Stiles argues. My heart flutters at the nickname. "We get it you're both adorable!" Scott shouts from his window.I give him one more kiss and he drives away.

Once I'm sure Scott is asleep, I make my way to the subway station. "What are you doing here?" Derek questions. "I come from a long line of werewolves and the thing I know about families of werewolves is that they always have some place to lock themselves up in when they shift. A place secluded enough so if they end up breaking free they can't hurt anybody. I could really use a place like that." I say. "Why would you need that? You never have to shift." Derek states. "I am bonded with my sort of alpha. I ran from him and if he finds me, I have to do anything he wants. He's way worse than this alpha, he'll probably make me kill a lot of people, people that I love just to get back at me. I can't resist it. The only way to break it is to shift, and unlike you I could never control myself when I shift. That's why we call it a curse. I just don't want to hurt anybody. I need a place to do that. I also need someone to help me with it." I explain.

"Why aren't you having Scott help you with this?" Derek asks. "Scott doesn't know and neither does Stiles, I would like to keep it that way. He just has so many things going on and I don't want to worry them. If I can fix it, what's the harm in them not knowing? I also don't know how to bring on the shift." I answer. His hard scowl softens and he sighs. "There are tunnels under my old house. You can do it there. The shifting process I'll be able to help with, it's not much different than ours. I'll make sure you don't hurt anybody. We can start tomorrow." Derek assures. "Why would you help me?" I question. "You're not like most vampires, disloyal loners who only help themselves, and kill when they please. That's the way I was raised, to hate vampires. But you're also a werewolf and you don't want to hurt anyone. I wanted to hate you, but I can't." Derek confesses. "Aw under all of that sour wolf exterior, there is a heart." I joke. "Tell anyone and I'll stake you." Derek threatens.
