As the sun fell, Link was ready to walk out the door. Suddenly, an overwhelming need to chew on something. Without thinking too much about it, but needing to get rid of his urge, he popped a piece of gum in his mouth and got in his car, ready to go to Lin's house.
When he arrived he sat in his car. Fearing what would wait inside. Lin's parents weren't very fond of Link, especially after his many slip ups. After what seemed like hours, Lin opened the passenger door and got in the car.
"Hey there slow poke, why don't you come inside?" Lin's voice had startled Link and caused him to jump. Lin giggled and put a hand on Link's thigh. "you okay hun, you seem a little jumpy." Link just nodded his head. "Awe, hun, still having issues talking?" Lin said with a smirk. "That's alright, but seriously it's cold outside so let's go inside."
After heading inside, Lin sat down Link and begun to strip off the extra layers.
"Aren't you warm? It's, like, eighty degrees in here." Link simply shook his head. After several moments of silence, Link tried speaking."Ith fine." Both Lin and Link stopped in their tracks. Lin started to laugh uncontrollably while Link's turned face turned a bright shade of red.
"Anyways, now that you can talk, sit down and let's have a chat." Link did exactly that. Sitting on the edge of the edge of Lin's bed, his face still looking like a cherry. "Ya know," Lin said coyly "if I would have known your face was going to be that red, I'd have become a vampire." She giggled slightly as Link's face just turned a deeper shade of red.
"I wouldn't joke too much about that." Link said, with a sudden control over his words. "Oh, that is so much better." After several minutes of idle chit chat, Link began to feel sick. A worried look spread across Lin's face.
"Are you alright?" She asked with uncertainty in her voice. Link, bent over, only nodded his head. He could feel a burning in his veins. Like a poison, coursing through his body. He groaned in pain as the burning sensation reached his chest. He fell to the floor, clutching his chest, heaving. The last thing Link saw, before passing out was Lin freaking out.
"Link! Link, wake up!" Lin was desperately pounding Link's chest. She called for help but by the time her parents came in Link's eyes snapped open. With a slight red hue in the rims of his iris."Oh my god, Link, are you alright?" Lin said with anguish in her voice.
"Never better." Link said with a smart-ass tone. He sat up off the floor and took a deep breath. "Does anyone have anything to drink?" Link inquired. Lin quickly got a glass of water and offered it to Link. He drank every ounce and asked for more. After drinking a considerable amount he was still parched.
"Link, are you sure you're okay?" Lin looked very concerned. With a twinkle in his eye, he gave her a devilish smile and moved closer to where she sat on the floor. "What are you doing?" She asked cautiously. Links eyes went from brown to pure black as he bit his lip, still inching closer to Lin.
