The IT department was amazing. Every desk in the room was personalised with mementos from each person's home life or just things to make the work space look cute. There was only one desk that was free of things and clutter and that was a chic-looking white-coloured desk with only a small computer and keyboard on it.
Then, suddenly, voices surrounded Kelly, like she was a celebrity.
"What's your name?" One inquired.
"Love your hair girl! So cute!" Another exclaimed.
"My name's Jon, what's yours?" A muscular dark-skinned man asked.Kelly stood there in shock, not knowing what to say.
"What everybody means is that we are the IT department for the bank. We'll take you out to lunch and tell you more about ourselves. For example, my name is Veronica, but everyone calls me Roni."The place they went to eat was "Jacky Pant's Burgers'." The name was weird, but the food was awesome.
"OK, let me try again, Roni, Jon, Susan, Derek, and...uh...Jake is it?"
"Close, but no cigar, it's Dale, not Derek." Dale corrected, knowing Kelly was getting his name wrong on purpose, as he had told her his name several times, he was starting to get frustrated now.A young boy about ten years of age walked over to their table and asked for Kelly.
"Hold on a sec, guys, gotta deal with this kid." She said as she put her hand on the kid's back and pushed him out of the store.
"How much?" Kelly asked.
"Seven billion."
"But-"
"Unmarked bills, that's what he said." The boy turned on his heels and walked away, not a care in the world.
Kelly watched as he left, a thousand things whizzing around her head. She couldn't believe the amount of money that she had to come up with, she couldn't let the man find out about him either. That was the most important thing of all.
