A High School Romance

(A/N: This chapter was heavily inspired by Girl Meets World. The similarities you may notice are due to the inspiration. Max is Maya, Shelby is Riley and Ross is whichever love interest you want. But yeah that's why, as people have pointed out, the story lines are similar (because they are plot ideas that have appeared in GMW. This is not meant to be me stealing them, this is more like an AU using you tubers I love)

Max sat down at his table scanning the lunch room for his best friend Shelby. Finally he spotted her walking over with someone Max had never seen before. She and the boy sat down and Shelby smiled at Max.

"Shelby, who's this?" Max questioned curious.

"Max, this is Ross. He's new." As a cheerleader Shelby always took it upon herself to help anyone she saw in need.

Max sighed and smiled slightly at Ross who looked very nervous. Soon Adam sat down, another of their friend's. After being introduced to Ross Adam and Max shared a look. It didn't take long for Jin to sit down with an affectionate "Hey losers... and person I don't know."

Once again the people at the table other than Ross and Shelby shared a look.

"Peaches," Max said using the childhood nickname he and Shelby had made for each other. "You got to stop doing this."

"Stop doing what?" Shelby questioned confused.

"Adopting strays, no offense Ross, seriously you're taking it too far."

"What strays have I adopted?"

"I was your first stray, Adam your second, Jin third. Now Ross is your fourth."

"I will never stop adopting strays, I will be queen of the strays." Shelby said defiantly.  Max rolled his eyes at his best friend and started a new conversation with Ross.

"Max you have detention for not handing in your work on time." Said Mr. Notch.

"What?" Max asked, confused why this conversation was happening in the middle of class.

"And now I forgive you. You don't have detention. See class, I forgave Max even if he did wrong."

"I got the homework in on time!"

"Okay class I want you to write a letter to someone and forgive them. It doesn't matter how small or big the issue was try and forgive someone in your life." Mr. Notch said after a lecture on forgiveness.

Max stared down at his sheet of paper, knowing who he wanted to forgive but not thinking he had it in him to do so. Shelby looked up from her sheet of paper and looked over at Max.

"You going to forgive him?" She asked looking at Max with concern.

"Forgive who?" Ross asked confused.

"I'm going to try Shelby and Ross don't worry about it."

"Max are you sure?" Mr. Notch asked knowing who it was Max was planning on forgiving. Max said nothing all he did was nod his head.

A few days later

A man of about 45 walked into the café that the group of friends were hanging out with. He had ginger hair and brown eyes so similar to Max that Ross nearly did a double take. Max got up, stumbling slightly. He looked sad and kind of like he was regretting something. "H-Hey dad."

Ross was shocked as were Adam and Jin. Shelby knew who the man was going to be and although she had never seen him before could tell he was related to Max.

The man smiled. Max sighed and he walked outside to have a conversation with his dad. His dad who left him all those years ago. Max had a feeling he'd regret this.
