Daryl's Broken Wings

Chapter 26:

As they make their way to Daryl's apartment, Beth stops and looks down at Daryl curiously.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner about all this?"

"Yer Dad really hates me cause of what happened- he literally told me to just take Kylie and go away forever so you could live in thw past." Daryl states amd Beth becomes angered at the thought of her father doing something like that. "Hey, I know what yer thinking- Beth, you've bedn through a lot. And so has he. I don't care if he hates me or not, because I love you more than anything."

"Daryl, you were just about to leave me- why?"

"I thought you'd never wanna see me again. As much as I was willing to go- my heart would have always been here anyway." They stay still for moments on end and then Daryl remembers something. "Beth- I think I know how to find out who hurt you! I'm so stupid to not have thought of it before! Come on!"

Going to the police station, several officers go to take Daryl out, but Rick stops them when he sees Beth. As pissed off as he is at Daryl, he still is on his side. Getting to a computer, Daryl hacks into the database, follows the kill files and finds the security cam for outside of Beth's shop. The officers and Beth watch as he uploads the file of the day Beth was attacked.

"What the hell is he doing here..." Hershel booms and Rick stops him from going to him. "Unhand me Grimes!"

"There! That must be the guy!" Daryl says as he pauses the screen on Noah's face. Getting closer, Beth looks hard and them her memories flood back to her.

"Noah! That's him! That's right! I asked him to have dinner with me because there was too much! I remember it now!" Beth gasps and Hershel stops sruggling. Everyone is silent and Daryl gets a good look at Noah's face.

"Alright boys- send a warrant out for his arrest. I want him in cuffs." Rick commands and the men start scrambling. Going to Daryl, he places his hand on his friend's shoulder, smiles, and then passes him. Looking at Hershel, Daryl feels a storm forming, but the old man's face falls to a soft smile.

"Ya did good. Like always. As for what we discussed- I hope you can forgive me."

As much as he wants to hit that old man in his family jewels and cuss, Daryl nods his head and wraps an arm around Beth. He's where he wants to be. He doesn't care what anyone says- he will always love Beth.

------Synopsis-------

In the time to come, Daryl and Beth get married (finally). Daryl never confronts Carol about what happened- chalking it up to depression. Kylie grows up happily, but Beth and Daryl never decide to have another child.

Noah was found and upon being arrested, forced an officer's gun into his mouth and shot himself to avoid arrest. Daryl was pissed.

Michonne and Rick have resolved all their issues and have become a couple once more. Carl has come back to being a normal teenager once more.

Everyone lives happily ever after.
