When Lucy woke up all that she could feel was pain. Her shoulder was aching and the back of her head was throbbing like none other. She sat up, extremely confused, in the darkness and almost screamed when her hand touched a warm and thick substance on the rough floor. She cautiously brought her hand up to her face and took a whiff of the liquid. It's coppery smell invaded her nose and made it slightly burned. Blood. Was it hers?
She fought the urge to puke and wiped her hand off on her damp dress. She couldn't see anything in the darkness and that made her scared, horrified even. She could feel the despair clawing into her chest and she just wanted to cry. She was so overwhelmed with her emotions that she almost passed out again.
She breathed slowly In and Out to calm her nerves and tried to think rationally. When she was calmer she skimmed the floor in hopes to find something useful but all she felt was a ring of metal with little swirls on it. 'The tiara', she thought. 'The damn tiara!'

"Goodbye Rosie! Happy Birthday, I'll see you tomorrow!" She called to her eight year old cousin as she exited her Aunt's house. Rosie smiled and waved out the window then went back to playing with her new toys and playmates. Her house was only ten minutes away on a good day but it was starting to get dark and there were tiny droplets of water hitting the ground. She sped up her walking, hoping to not get drenched on her way home but the weather wasn't in her favor and she was soaked in seconds. Her dress clung to her like a second skin and her hair wouldn't stop blocking her sight and sticking to her forehead. She sighed in frustration and ran her fingers through her hair, successfully knocking her pink tiara off in the process. The ping of it hitting the concrete sidewalk made Lucy jump, then groan as the tiara rolled into some alley. She was planning to just keep going when she thought about her cousin, "Rosie just gave that to me! I can't just leave it in some alley." She muttered to herself, then she slowly walked into the alley.
The darkness of the alley swallowed her whole and it gave her the creeps, 'Okay, just get the tiara and get out of here.' She urged herself to move forward and find that stupid tiara. When she heard a noise at the back of the alley. She got a sickening feeling deep in her gut and she knew something bad was going to happen. So, like a smart girl, she turned around and started to walk out of that creepy place.
Then she saw it, the shiny tiara just sitting there a few feet away. 'I completely passed' it, she thought and she shook her head. She then took a step forward to get it but a hand clamped down on her arm and another covered her mouth and nose with a sweet smelling cloth. Her heart jumped out of her chest and her body froze. 'No! I will NOT get kidnapped in some sketchy back alley!'
She remembered something that she read about a girl who out smarted her kidnapper by pretending to pass out. She flailed her arms and legs while holding her breath then she started to slowly go limp in her attackers arms. She hoped that they wouldn't hear the relentless pounding of her heart and that this would work. They dropped her onto the wet and cold ground with a thud and kept the chloroform rag rested on her face, but there was no more pressure of it pressed against her nose.
She couldn't stand holding her breath any longer so she took a small gulp of air, careful not to inhale too much chloroform, then she rolled her head to the side and the rag fell off of her face. She slowly opened her eyes and saw her attacker leaning over her, he was an older looking man with a scraggly beard and a dirty face. Her leg lifted off of the floor and sent a kick right in between his legs. The man grabbed onto his jewels and quickly fell on the floor next to her.
She pushed herself off of the ground and ran out of the alley, but not before she could reach down and swipe that dumb tiara. She started running down the street, not having the slightest clue on where she's going. There was no one around and the darkness had claimed the sky. Her mind started to get fuzzy and her running turned into walking, then it turned into stumbling. 'The chloroform...' She thought lazily to herself as she fought to stay coordinated and moving.
A man in a familiar looking suit was walking towards her on the sidewalk and he caught her when she started to fall. She wished that she could have known what he looked like but her vision was failing her. The rain had stopped and she wanted it to keep going because suddenly her throats got so dry. She found the last bit of strength to move her mouth and said, "Help." Then the darkness swallowed her again and the last thing she heard was a chuckle and the ping of her stupid tiara hitting the concrete sidewalk.

Hi! This chapter is kinda short, they will get a lot longer as the story progresses. Just as a heads up, my story will contain blood, gore, and methods of torture. For some it will be too much and for some it will be too little, but I'm here for the people who think that it's just right :)
