"So I said, 'That is not a cow! That is his mother!" The Jester's annoying laugh rang of the walls and Lucy cringed since she was forced to hear another on of his jokes. "Why aren't you laughing Princess?" The Jester stopped and stared straight into Lucy's eyes. His own eyes held a dangerous edge to them as he asked the seemingly innocent question. Lucy knew that if she gave the wrong answer than she would pay dearly.
"I'm just so tired! It's been a long day." after seeing all of the children in the basement The Jester had pulled her all around and showed her different rooms. On room had all costumes in it, the other had make up. One that he was especially proud of held different comedic props and he held them all out to Lucy as if he was showing a mother his special toys.
Despite Lucy being on her best behavior he still kept her hands tied and when she cautiously asked him why he had blown it off with a small chuckle and said, "You are still getting used to your new life with me. The other Princesses tried to run away often and I don't want you to get into that kind of habit. They did and they paid." Lucy must have given away her horror at the thought of not being the only "Princess" because The Jester grabbed her hands lovingly.
"Don't worry my Princess! You are the only one in my life now. You are more perfect than they ever will be. I will never be with anyone else while I am with you!" Lucy had forced a fake smile and nodded her head, then he pulled her into some other unknown room.
Lucy was definitely exhausted, both mentally and physically. The Jester searched her eyes for any dishonesty and when she assumed that he found none the coldness left his eyes and happiness began to fill them again. 'This guy is a bipolar psycho!'
"Of course my dear, let me show you to our room."
"Our room?" Lucy questioned. The Jester slowed and turned around, then he slapped his hand against his forehead. "I am such a dunce! We shouldn't share a room until we get married of course! I'm just going to get you set up in the guest room before we can get our wedding arranged." The Jester then took a detour and they walked down the corridor in the opposite direction and then they took a sharp left followed by a right. 'God, why are there so many rooms?'
Then Lucy's train of thought went back to the little rant that the Jester had. He wanted them to get married! As dreadful as it sounded Lucy was still full of hope. It was possible that she could earn his trust faster than she had thought because he had subconsciously stopped pulling her around. Now it was just her willingly walking behind him wherever he wanted to go.
All that she had to do was be patient and wait around for this insane man to hopefully not kill her. The Jester stopped at a door and took out a key to unlock it. When he opened the door Lucy was surprised on how beautiful the room was. It was all white and the only other color that showed up in the theme was red. It was pristine and looked like a place where a rich person would sleep.
"Now listen up my little princess. Despite how everything might look, my house is a fortress. There is no way to get in and out unless you are me so don't even try. Another thing that I need to address is obedience. You have been showing that you are as proper as a princess should be and I am proud of how perfect you are."
Suddenly The Jester's eyes turned cold and crazy as he stared at Lucy and her heart jumped in fear. "If you act out against me or act like how a princess would not act then you will be punished like the others. Are we clear?" Lucy nodded her head and then responded with a proper, "Yes Jester, I understand."
The Jester smiled, pleased at her words and walked back towards the door. "I will be back in the morning with clothes and we will go eat breakfast before we go and visit the puppets. Before that time I want you to clean yourself up and have a good nights rest. There should be some temporary clothing items in the wardrobe." Lucy nodded her head at everything that The Jester said hoping to please him.
Happiness filled Lucy as The Jester started to cross through the door as if he was going to leave but he turned around once more and said, "Oh yeah! And one more thing." The Jester reached inside of his jacket and threw something onto the bed. When Lucy got a good look at it made her want to cry. It was the tiara. Again.
"Can you believe my luck? I was on my way to your house to come and get you when you stumbled down the street all alone. You already looked like a princess with your tiara in hand and I knew that it was fate when you passed out in my arms. You are the one, and I just can't wait to start a new life again with you Alice." The Jester closed behind him and Lucy heard the door lock with a loud click.
"Crazy ass motherfucker." Lucy cursed when she was sure that he was gone. Lucy picked up the tiara and set it down on the floor nest to the bed. The room only had a bed and a wardrobe in it even though there was so much space to work with and then Lucy noticed the other door. She walked to the door and slowly turned the handle. The door opened with a small creak and it revealed a bathroom. The small bathroom had a shower, a toilet, and a sink.
"The insane bastard is smarter that I thought." Lucy muttered to herself when she realized that there were no windows or mirrors. Lucy searched all around the room to see if she could find anything but she failed to find something useful.
When she figured that she searched everywhere she decided to take a shower so that she wouldn't smell bad tomorrow and make The Jester angry. When she got out of the shower she tenderly touched the cut on her head and winced. "It's not that deep." she made her way to the wardrobe and put on some clothes to sleep in and then she laid in her new bed.
So many questions were swimming in her head that she could barely focus on one. How many people has he killed? What made her different from the other kids? Who the hell was Alice? Lucy just tried to push those questions out of her head and had dreams of rotting corpses and a crazy big grin.
