Chapter 1

The argument we had was totally futile, really! Like who argues at ten in the night in a dark corner of a large totally deserted library! Yeah, who? But we do. Yup, we. Me, Imari and Asagi.

The argument was totally stupid to begin with. What was it about? Yeah, Naruto. Now don't get me wrong, I totally love that anime, like I'm the number one fan, really! But after the predicament it got us into ... I really don't know what to say ...

So, how did it begin, you ask? Yeah, I'll tell you, because that'll be a huge load off my shoulders because no matter whom I tell or how seriously I tell anybody, they won't believe me, and I hope you are not the same.

"What was the name of that ninja with biiig sword in the first mission?" I asked.

"Zabuza, I guess." Said Asagi without taking her eyes off the book she was reading.

Imari sat at the far corner of the table reading chapter 101 of Naruto manga. 'Nobody disturb me!' She had said, 'Or else I'll send my shadow clones after you!' It didn't seem like much of a threat to Asagi and me but we left her alone.

"No, it wasn't Zabuza, something much cooler,  I think." I replied.

"Come on Arika, I know that your imagination runs really wildly,  and you would prefer things to be much cooler than they actually are, but, it is Zabuza. " Asagi said to me finally taking her eyes off her book, talking to me face to face, with the look of clear annoyance plastered on her face. But I was quite amused. I was the one in the group who like annoying everybody, and wouldn't stop even if their annoyance turned into frustration.

As usual, I didn't stop bugging her .

"No it's something cool like Bazooka!" I knew it was Zabuza, and I was really bored, both Asagi and Imari were lost in their books, totally ignoring me.

Imari finally turned her attention towards me. " Ugh! Not one of you people's pointless arguments again."

We ignored her.

"Zabuza!" Asagi said with frustration painted on her face, stressing on the word.

" Bazooka!" I replied to her frustration with amusement.

Soon our argument turned into a heated shouting match, involving not only me and Asagi but Imari too, who had joined when our 'argument' changed topics from Zabuza to Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry, and asagi had called Sasuke a vampire who lookec like he had put a duck upside down on his head. Not that I disagree with her.

"How dare you call him a vampire, or a duckbutt!" Imari said. " You have no right to call him weird, when you yourself like old people."

At this point I had gone away from them and didn't dare enter the area within four metre radiys of them.

Asagi let out a gasp at Imari's reply as if she didn't believe what she had just said.

"ITACHI'S NOT OLD!! HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU? THEY ARE STRESS MARKS!!!"

And they began shouting again.

Soon Imari stormed off to anathor section of the library, obviously angered by Asagi. Asagi and me followed her. Soon we reached a strange and mysterious section of the library we had never been to before. Imari was in the corner and when she saw us she grunted.

"Come on Imari, I called duc- I mean Sasuke a vampire, and you called Itachi old, so we're even." Imari was really sensitive and it was quite easy to annoy her, which  made annoying her the most fun thing!

I gave Asagi a look that said 'Apologize' even though I was in no place to say that to her. In response she gave me a look that said 'It wouldn't have happened if you hadn't started it in the first place!"

But I ignored her and began tapping my foot at the ground, trying to say that I was waiting. She apologized and five minutes later we were back to normal like nothing had ever happened. And that, to be honest, is the best thing about us.

It was almost eleven at night and we knee that our mothers were waiting in homes, ready to give us a piece of their minds. As soon as we beganto leave, a book fell out of the shelf on the floor with a loud thump.

"What is it?" I asked.

It was a large heavy book, that looked like it had come right out of our history book. Wow that rhymed!

"It is a book obviously! " Asagi said. I ignored her.

But I didn't get any answer to my question, but instead I got a look of bewilderment mixed with fear from Imari.

"You have heard the stories about this part of the town, haven't you?" Imari asked in a low voice.

"Yeah I have and let me tell you, they are nothing but fairy tales that are nonsense and silly and made up by small children just for fun." I replied, not believing that they actually believed in them.

"But no, Arika! They really are true. I heard that this part of the town in cursed, this library has cursed books too, and people hear strange noises from here and you know the story-" Asagi said but I cut her off.

"Yeah, yeah! I've heard the silly thing. That this part of the town is near to the forest and this forest was cursed by a family who lived here hundreds of years ago and whose ancestors were said to be wizards. Yeah I've heard it a thousand times, honestly I thought I had a wild imagination but you guys have an even wilder imagination than me, who believes in this nonsense?" I replied.

"As Will Herondale said, 'There is plenty of sense in nonsense, if you wish to look for it.'" Asagi replied, but I ignored her because i could never say that will was wrong.

"I am going to read this book and see what's in it! You guys can go home if you want to!" I said.

Imari tried to reason with me but Asagi cut her off saying 'Whatever happens, Arika will be responsible for it.'

And even though they did not admit it, I knew that even they were a bit curious.

I ignored both of them and squatted near the book opening the first page, Asagi and Imari leaning on me, both of their hands on my shoulder.

The first line of the first page was:

Stranger beware, you're in for a scare
You dont know what you're getting into
For, this book is going to take you to the place
You have last been to

Stranger, beware, if you touch this book with hands bare
You will get thrown into
Strange world, strange places
You have always wanted to go to

After saying the last word, I didn't even het time to frown in confusion as I heard two people screaming in unison, and the last thing I remembered before unconsciousness took over me was darkness enveloping me.
