Whenever I walk past some freshly cut grass with my friends, I always feel this urge, this longing, to just lie there, looking up at the sun in the sky, just listen and feel and hear and take it all in... and forget everything else... I don't know if that's normal or not but I'd love to do it sometime.

At this point I didn't know she was home-schooled... until about five seconds out the door when I asked and she told me. She recently moved here and that explained her social life. She started to look a little nervous and I could tell why, she saw where the questions were going. I asked her about what she dreamed about last night and she seemed to sigh relief and horror at the same time, I must have been close on the question, she took a bit to think then she tried  to pretend she forgot and so I stopped walking and told her to be serious with me. She looked a bit scared, then it slowly faded from her face as she explained that I was going to called her crazy, I told her I knew what she was going to say and she stopped talking as she figured it out. We stood there for a minute as she seemed deep in thought and I just stood there awkwardly, I think she was trying to see if I actually knew. I decided to speak up, "You dream about what is going to happen but it can change based on your choices, like me. You wake up to either better or maintain the outcome. You never see me in your dreams." She stood there, surprised I talked, surprised I knew, surprised we were so similar.

After a few minutes her expression changed from one type of surprise to another.  "That's the most I've heard you say at once."  That's true, I thought, but now what do I say?  She didn't seem to know what to say either, it was like this is what we had wanted this whole time but now we didn't know what to do with it.  Eventually, I decided it was my turn to speak up for once and stop being so shy about the whole thing.  "How long did it take you... to figure out my address?" I asked.  She was quiet for a second but the she said "I followed you home once, I tried not to be seen."  After a second she realized how strange it sounded.  "I-I'm sorry if that sounded creepy."  "Don't worry about it."  "You're talking a lot more." she smiled "I like it this way."  "I guess I got a change of perspective.  I'm not usually this open, but then again, I don't know anyone who has the same ability as me."  I looked back at her and smiled.  I think she and I were beginning to open up more, not only to each other but in general.  I hadn't realized how nice it was to make someone smile... haven't felt that much from anyone new, mostly friends and my parents.  It feels great, and for the rest of the day I smile, at least a little.  We eventually reach school and I go on in.

After school, she is there waiting for me.  I'm kinda glad she is, I had a pretty bad day with the test I didn't study for due to me working on a book of mine and a few other missing assignments but if I'm lucky my grades will survive the blow.  She smiles and waves at me when she sees me.  "Who's that?" asks Tyler, one of my best friends.  "She's... a friend."  He looks at her again and then back at me, "Yeah, right."  He smiles mischievously.  "What's that supposed to mean?"  I say as he starts to walk away.  "I'd like to think you know how I think well enough to figure it out yourself."  I know him, and he probably thinks she looks attractive, I prefer to refrain from his mentality and respect everyone.  I walk over to Sky.  "Hi!" she says, a little louder than what I expected.  "Well somebody's excited."  I reply, smiling.  She quickly replies "I'm sorry, was that too loud, I didn't mean to yell."  "Don't worry about it.  Let's walk and enjoy ourselves."  Then we walk towards my house and begin the greatest of conversations.
