The World Anew

Chapter 2

It had been a least a week or to since me and Alyssa had talked... Or at least I think. I have just been doing research about the out side world beyond the walls. So far all I've managed to find out was that the wall was built in 2473 A.D. And that the founders built it to protect the land that they had conquered.

After the world was owned by the four empires they made a truce pact for 500 years but ended 200 years later. And they have been at war ever since! Then turrets were added to the wall to repel infantry and other light weights. And now the empire wants us to believe that's it signifies our survival and might.

They tell us they fight for the greater good of freedom, but there is no freedom! Either join the imperial army or work your ass off to supply the army's. and then all of this propaganda!

As I was starting to upset myself, I decided to call Alyssa and take my mind off this for a little. As the phone rang, I realized I didn't know what to say! "Hey Alyssa miss you girl! Na to cheesy. Hey miss you face! Lets hang!.... Haha hell no!" I said chuckin but as I said that Alyssa picked up and had heard what I said

"Umm, ok Alex ill be over soon then!" She said laughing

" Oh my fucking god!" I said in disbelief. How could I have not noticed her picking up the phone! Now she's on her way over and probably thinking I'm a weirdo. But maybe it's a good thing. I mean she's giving my head a break from all this studying, but maybe seeing her...

And before I had finished my thought, Alyssa was here.

"Wow! That was freakishly fast!" I said in astonishment

"We'll, you know I missed your stupid self"

"And your face!" She said making fun of me

"Ohh... Ya"

"Wow this place is a mess" Alyssa said disgustingly

"I think it needs a lady's touch"

" Ok! Go for it! But if you get eaten by something I'm not coming to help you!" I said

"We'll now, that's not very reassuring!"

As she was cleaning around the desk, she noticed the papers I had researched about the massive walls. As she read them I noticed her face to from curious to angry

"We'll I didn't know the walls were made so tall to keep star ships out, and I also didn't know that my dumb friend Alex wanted to fucking die!"

"Hey now!" I said but it was no use

"Don't fucking hey now me! I don't want to see you die because you had to poke your nose around in the empires crouch!" She said sounding more furious than ever before

"Alyssa calm down! Please!" I asked pleadingly

"NO! do you want to die or something you self centered bitch! Did you ever stop to think how I would feel if the empire was to send there assassins on you?" She said turning red

Never in my whole life have I seen her get this upset and angry before! And frankly it scared the shit out of me!

I didn't know what to do, should I hug her? Tell her it's alright? What? The only thing I could manage to do was pick her up like you would carrying a bride, and sit down on the couch and hold her tight. She wrapped her arms around my neck and started weeping such enormous tears that my shit was soaked.

It had been a little over three hours since our "little" incident, for at least two hours I watched her sleep in my arms and played with her hair. It was soft and silky, and smelt like roses. She knew I liked roses, she knew that from the ONE time I told her freshmen year of high school. But that was long ago! How did she still remember?

And it was moments like this that I would absolutely fall in love with her. I started to feel a little weak hearted, just remembering how she wouldn't date any one, and when asked why she would make some stupid reason. And now I felt bad. For breaking her heart.

Another hour passed and I had layer her down in my bed. I know she didn't want me to snoop around the empires buesness, but I had to know what was going on. I mean we haven't heard anything about the war, or heard artillery explosions from over the walls years ago.

It all just go quiet, and there's know way that they happen fast like that! Just then it started raining ashes, a temporary distraction, but also a motivation!

Then Alyssa arose from her sleep and walked up behind me and wrapped her arms around me.

"Alex? I'm sorry for getting mad and yelling, it's just that... I care about you and don't want to see you get hurt." She said with a crack in here voice

"But if your determined to find what your looking for, we'll then hell I guess I'm in to. Besides then I can patch you up!"

Five years prior Alyssa had taken a medical class that she needed to become a medic for the imperial army, she wanted to see the world to get past the gate. But she was dropped out due to a bias commander who hated women in the army

"Really? You would?" I asked in excitement

"Ya! Why the hell not?" She said with a worried smile

I told her that I had found a guy who works on the wall and that he was willing to talk to us on the upcoming weekend

"Are you sure it's not a trap? I mean it sounds a little too good to sound true, a guy willing to give vital info on the wall but still loves his empire" she said sounding skeptical

"Ya I guess it does seem too good to be true." I said

"But it will be worth it! Trust me!"

As the day arrived to meet our little friend, Alyssa grew more anxious and distraught. I tried to ease her by complimenting on her looks, which happened to be the truth. But nothing seemed to work.

"Are you wearing make up?" I asked sounding shocked

"Ya... Why? Is it bad?" She asked frantically

"No, you just look different with make up on"I said

"Is it bad? I can take it off" she said even more frantic

"Naa, it's just different to see you with makeup on! That's all, you look beautiful though!" I said blushing

"You know what? If your gonna die than let's at least go to the dome so I can see you in your swim trunks again" she said with heist

"Uhh ok then" I said trying to hold back my amusement

As we reached the dome and were inside. Alyssa immediately found our spot from last time and we both got our swim suits on. The heat setting the dome was on was set to a hot summer so it was hot and humid, and as Alyssa came back from changing, I immediately noticed her new bikini. It was smaller around the boobs and I'm not going to even get into detail about the other piece. I aromatically drop my jaw in amazement and disbelief.

And the way she walked, it was like she was doing it on propose. And of course it was, she toke a picture of me starring

"There now if you do die, I have a picture of you! Still won't be the same thought so please don't. Ok?" She said

We spent the rest of that day swimming and then later taking a walk in the forest

Alex gets shot thought the heart next chapter but I need ideas for after he recovers.... Besides catching up with his ex
