Chapter 3

The day had arrived, we would find out if this man was an informant or trying to help his fellow comrades. As we were walking to the location that we were meeting the man, I noticed Alyssa's awareness and that she was watching the roof tops to make sure no one was following.

As we turned a corner a corner, the man came into view. He was thick built and covered in soot. He to like Alyssa was very on guard and watching for anything suspicious.

"Followed?" He asked

"No" I said looking to Alyssa for confirmation

"No" she also said with confidence

"Good, follow me."

As we followed the man, I looked at Alyssa. I could tell we were thinking the same thing, that the man was very forward and and that he couldn't possible work for the empire. As we continued to follow the man to a small shack hidden by the bigger buildings, he told us to wait as he pulled out a key ring with almost a dozen keys on it. Once he found the right on he told us to go inside, once we were inside I noticed there were only two windows and a table with two chair. As the man sat to the right I took the seat to the left.

"So your here to learn more about the wall, is that right?"

He asked lighting a cigarette

"Yes, I want to know the real reason it was put up, what it's purpose is now, and what's beyond them!" I said determinedly

"We'll they were put up to halt the invasion from the New Republic Empire below us on the map, and the Helghast Empire which was also a military based empire. It's purpose now is to still repel the enemy's of our empire but to also to keep its citizens in it so they can't leave the empire. And what's beyond the walls? We'll I can't say only people with Class A clearance can get to see, and those are the Generals and the Overseer him self." He said

"Hmm!" I said

Just then I heard Alyssa's voice yell out

"SHIT! THEY FOUND US!"

as I looked over I saw a two men coming in black imperial armor, and behind them three more came out of cloaking

"Fuck!" The man said "they have cloaking devices! Those were experimental!"

And then a snipe came out of cloak on the building across the street. Then there was a loud bang and I heard a something make a splat sound. And as I looked around I felt this uncontrollable pain in me chest! It was getting near impossible to breath! Then I heard Alyssa's screams as as she saw me fall to the ground. The man stod over me and yelled at the solders and told Alyssa to get out of the area

"You imperial bastards!" He said shouting as he pulled out a rifle but before he could get a shot off he was shot multiple times. And even more as the solders came point blank. they looked over me I could hear them talking but every thing was starting to fade

"Commander? He isn't dead yet! What should we do?"

"Let's watch him bleed lieutenant." He said in a monotone voice

"Yes sir!" The lieutenant said

And then it all went black, and cold. I couldn't feel anything or even move! The only thing I could do was think, it felt like a long time that I had to myself. Is this what it's like to die? You can't do anything but think, while stuck inside a dead body?

And for what felt like years, I thought about Alyssa and how I had missed her face. I was growing sadder and sadder every minute that passed. I didn't want to think what happened to her or what was going through her head.
