After spending a day trudging through the forest, the twins decided to abandon their search for the illusive Bigfoot and head back to the shack. Unbeknownst to the two of unsuspecting siblings, an insidious force had followed them home...
Slam! The sound of the front door closing alerted their ancient uncle of the twins' arrival. Contempt with the place he was already at, Stan decided he was too lazy to get up and greet the kids. Mabel and Dipper slid their backs down the wall and slumped down onto the floor. Walking through the woods for an entire day wore a person out, and the two were physically exhausted. Mabel looked at Dipper whom was a complete mess; she could only imagine how bad she appeared. Suddenly, she jumped up with a newfound energy exclaiming, "Dibs on the bathroom!"
"Hey, no fair!" Dipper yelled as he bolted after his sister. She cackled while she ran up the stairs with Dipper close on her heels. However, before he could reach the bathroom, Mabel slammed the door in his face and locked the door. Using both his fists and his feet, he pounded on the door with all his might. "Mabel let me in! I need to use the bathroom too!" She blew a raspberry at him in a taunting manner. Dipper groaned at his sister's immaturity, he didn't understand how she was so childish compared to him especially since they were the same age. "At least let me brush my teeth first," Mabel heard Dipper call through the door.
She hesitated, her hand hovering above the door handle. A truce? She pondered, or perhaps a trick? Either way it didn't matter, he was her brother and she trusted him more than anyone else. "Fine," she said finally unlocking the door and letting Dipper in. He glared at her briefly then grabbed his toothbrush. Gazing at their reflections, Mabel and Dipper didn't realize how lousy they had looked until now. "Ugh," Mabel complained as she looked at herself. Her hair was a complete wreck and she had large patches of mud covering her sweater and parts of her skin. She pulled something sharp that was entangled in one of her brown locks. "Is this a branch?" Mabel questioned examining the object, "How did this even get in there?"
"Maybe it was when you jumped into a bush to pet a duck," Dipper commented through a mouth full of toothpaste. He quickly rinsed his mouth out and hid his toothpaste. Last time he didn't hide it Mabel had eaten the entire tube. Dipper gagged at the thought of doing something so disgusting. He didn't think his toothpaste didn't taste that good, but he hated sharing with Mabel. The cap on her toothpaste never fit because she never washed it so goop leaked out of the container, gathered hair and it was really gross.
"Haha," Mabel laughed as she remembered the events of earlier that day. "Yeah, and it was totally worth it too. That duck was really soft." Cold water ran through the tap and over Mabel's hand as she waited for the bath to warm. As soon as it was hot enough to her liking, she pulled a bottle of bubble soap out of the cupboard and poured it into the tub. She watched bubbles form and she fantasized about being the queen of bubbles. She would live in a palace made out of bubbles and it would smell sweet like strawberries. All the servants would be rubber duckies, and to get from place to place she would fly inside a giant pink bubble. All of a sudden, she felt the bottle of soap disappear from her hand.
Puzzled as to where it went, she turned around only to find Dipper holding the bottle in his right hand. "I think that's enough for now," he said as he put the container back under the sink.
Mabel pouted at him. "But you can never have too much of one thing!" she exclaimed putting her hands on hair hips while her eyes went separate directions.
He gave her a skeptical look, "I don't think that's true." He looked back at the tub, which had bubbles cascading over the side. Mabel grinned sheepishly at him then shrugged innocently. He sighed, shaking his head as he left the room so his sister could take a bath. About an hour later though, Dipper grew tired of waiting for his sister to finish. He returned and knocked on the door, "Mabel, it's been an hour. What are you doing in there?" From inside he could hear sounds of splashing. Why does is take girls so long to use the bathroom? What could they possibly be doing that takes so much time? Dipper thought to himself. Maybe, Mabel is secretly an octopus creature and whenever she enters warm water she transforms back into her original form. Then her primitive instincts take over and it takes cold water for her to change back into a human! Whatever the case may be, it's a mystery to me.
