∆ Clock Strikes FOUR
'Argh!' I gasped and coughed. My heart felt like it was being clenched and was never going to expand again. I panted heavily. The pain was killing me. I gripped the doorknob tight. Tears gathered at the corner of my eyes and were ready to descend.
I was sweating and the only thing in my mind was to stay conscious and go to school. It was getting late, 19:45. It hurt so much I could barely breathe. Help...!
-
Shuu opened his eyes. The annoying voice didn't reach his ears. He glanced at the clock on the wall of the music room. 'She should be here by now.' He thought.
The door went open but it wasn't Koyuki. It was a boy, probably his classmate. 'Sakamaki-kun, right?' he spoke. 'I'm Kazuma, Koyuki's friend. Did she come here?'
Shuu blinked at him, too lazy to answer. Can't he see there's no one else there? Kazuma rubbed his nape and nodded. 'I guess she's not here, then. Excuse me.' He bowed his head and closed the door.
Shuu frowned then exhaled sharply. 'Why would I care, anyway?' he huffed.
-
I stared at my bed. The pain had gone and I was just awake after falling unconscious 2 hours before. I sighed. I wished Shuu were here to do that thing again. It felt soothing and the pain would lessen immediately.
'It's rare for you to skip school.' A voice said.
My eyes widened. I couldn't see anyone because I was lying beside the bed. I-It sounded like Shuu but—
'Just get up already.' The voice added.
I did as I was told and gasped loudly when I saw Shuu sitting on the railing of the balcony. 'W-W-W-Why are you here, Shuu?!' I stammered and backed away.
'That's my line,' he said and yawned. 'I want to sleep.'
He walked into the room and landed on the bed. I gasped. H-How unpleasant! 'S-Shuu, you can't sleep here.' I said and pushed his body from the bed.
He groaned inwardly and continued sleeping. He wasn't going to budge. As far as I knew, he is definitely not that type of person to just wake up from his precious sleep in the music room and come here just to ask why I was absent then sleep on my bed.
I sighed and went to the kitchen to drink water. When I entered my room once again, Shuu was standing in front of my dressing table, staring at the bottles on it. He looked up and saw me.
'May I ask why—' I couldn't finish my sentence as the pain struck me in the heart again. I dropped the glass and crouched, grabbing my shirt where the heart is located. I gasped for air and groaned.
Shuu knelt beside me and touched my back. The warm thingy flowed within me and the pain lessened. I squealed lightly and looked at him. 'W-What—'
'I told you,' he spoke. 'I healed you. I am a vampire.'
My eyes widened and I sat up properly. He told me yesterday but I couldn't find the time to confirm what he said. 'Still don't believe me?' he asked. I went silent.
He took the broken glass and slashed it on my arm. I squealed in pain and before I could touch my arm, he grabbed it and the pain disappeared. I bit my lower lip and looked at him in the eyes.
His lazy eyes. His lazy, blue, mesmerizing eyes. 'You're afraid? Good. Be afraid of me. I'm a vampire, a bloodsucker, thus, you should not meddle into my business anymore.'
