The second Jasey's left foot hit the pavement outside of Man Overboard she took off in a hurried sprint. She had no idea where she was going or when she was coming back, she just had to get the hell out of there.

Running was one thing that Jasey could turn to when things got rough. All she needed was a road and some time to kill. She would run at anytime of day or night. Running let her mind wander. Which, most of the time, wasn't a good idea. It made her dwell on the bad things that had happened in her life. All of which she did her best to avoid at all costs. But like everything else nasty, it followed her around.

When Jasey would run she wouldn't stop for almost anything. She would keep putting one foot in front of the other until she reached past the point of exhaustion into that blissful state where her body felt almost nothing at all. She felt as if on her own personal high, and it would take the world ending to bring her down.

Jasey thought of the incident that happened Adam and hour ago. Why did I snap at him? He's the only person that I can turn too, the only person I can tell everything to. He's been there from the beginning and he's going to be there until the end. And this is how I repay him for being the only person who cares about me? I don't know how he sticks around, and doesn't leave me like the everyone else. It would much easier that way, so he doesn't get hurt in the end. But along with everyone leaving Jasey, she is filled with this great sense of loneliness. She used to have friends, once upon a time, she was a normal teenager even. She was happy. Happiness was her overall emotion, she rarely felt sad or angry. She was happy with her life. But then 10th grade happened and everything changed. She had to grow up in a very short amount of time. She felt like life was out to get her. Drag her down to her weakest and darkest points, just to sit and laugh at her misfortune. A sick system she had grown to accustomed to over the years. With her parents having getting divorced, she now lives with her mom. But her mom works 24/7 to support her and her daughter. So Jasey had to fend for herself most of time. Expect for when Adam was home, then she could feel like a little kid again and feel dependent on someone. Even though it doesn't last for long and he has to return to his own life again.

Although Jasey is surrounded by the rest of the world, she still feels like she's suffocating. The air that she breathes is not enough. It doesn't quench her lungs' need for fresh air. She needs to escape. Escape from this big city she calls home. And fly by the seat of her pants. Feel the adrenaline of not knowing what's going to happen next, even if it may terrify her. Let the wind carry her anyway it pleases, like a leaf falling from a tree during autumn. Maybe then she will finally feel free. Come to terms with herself and reality, that sometimes things don't turn out the way you planned. And that's completely okay. What's the point in knowing how the story ends when you've only read the first chapter? The chapters that come after will be boring and predictable. And you won't want to finish the story anymore, even if you seemed eager at the start. That's how quick your life can change. Everything you knew, or thought you knew, became the complete opposite.

Every day Jasey asks herself one question: Who am I? And ever day she has the same answer: I have no fucking idea. Most people her age are either going to college, have some type of job, or know what they want to be when they "grow up". She has no idea. Jasey feels like she's a feather just floating around in space waiting for something to happen. What that is, she doesn't know either. And not knowing is her biggest fear. She wants to know everything and anything so she can  be prepared. Every day if she doesn't know how it's going to play out, she spends it in fear of what could happen. What could go wrong. What could go right. It drives her so crazy, to the point of insanity. But it's the kind of crazy Jasey thrives for because when she doesn't know that's when she feels most alive.

As Jasey was turning around the corner, she ran right into a man knocking them both to the ground.

"Ouch" he groaned in pain. "Watch where the fuck you're going!"

"Says the guy who was taking up the whole fucking walkway" Jasey exclaimed.

The mans expression went hard, and his eyes narrowed. "Excuse me? What did you just say to me?"

Jasey studied the man in front of her. Her eyes started at his hair. It was nice blonde color but was oily and slightly messy. Like he'd run his hand through it too many times in the past thirty minutes. Her eyes wandered down to his face. He had blonde stubble along his sharp jawline, chin and upper lip. He had dark bags under his eyes, almost purple. You could tell he hadn't gotten much sleep in a while. His piercing gray eyes, were harsh and dull at the same time, they held no emotion. He looked about her age, maybe a year or two older. She had a feeling that she looked just as bad as him, if not worse. Sweaty, huge bags under her eyes as well, and her wild black hair going everywhere not bothering to put it up into a ponytail.

The strange mans voice interrupted Jasey's train or thought, "Hello? Did you even hear what I just said? It's rude to fucking to stare, you know."

Jasey snapped out of her trance and opened her mouth only to stutter out a response.

"You're wasting my fucking time," the man said and pushed Jasey out of the way and walked briskly away from her, running a hand through his messy hair and fixing his black hoodie before crossing the street.

When he was out of sight, Jasey looked down and realized she was still on the ground from falling. She inspected her arms and legs for cuts. She had a cut on her knee where her jeans ripped and scrapes on the palms of her hands. Nothing too bad. She lifted herself up off the ground and started running again, except in the direction of her house, noticing it was starting to dark. She was too busy acting like she was running from a scary monster to realize she was being followed.

Jasey got home at around 12:30 in the morning. She crept into her room trying not to create too much noise to wake her mom from sleeping down the hall. She jumped into the shower attached to her room to wash off the dried tears, sweat, and dried blood on her knee cap. Jasey stood under the hot water stream letting it wash over her entire body and relaxing her tense muscles. She watched the water wash down the drain wishing it could take her regrets and bad memories with her. She quickly washed her hair and body and stepped out of the shower putting on a pair of sweats and getting into bed.

Just as her about to slip into unconsciousness, and be filled with the happy sensation of her dream, she heard a quite tap on her window. Being a light sleeper, her eyes snapped open immediately. She got up, and moved her curtain to see a face staring back at her. She jumped back slightly and opened her window for the new arrival to come in. Jasey, suddenly, not feeling tired anymore greeted the person in a bear crushing hug. She pulled back after a few minutes letting the person regain their breathe.

"Oh my gosh! What are you doing here?" Jasey whisper screamed with excitement evident in her voice.
