Around The World

Chapter One

          "HEY!!!" I scream and try to shake them off. I am pulled away from the window.
         It's the man that was looking for me.
        "LAUREN!!!" The boy yells.
Through the corner of my eye, I think I can see him scrambling back up the tree.
The man grabs onto my arm with his monster grip and pulls me out of the room.
         I would call for the boy, but I realized that I don't know his name. The boy swings himself into the window sill.
          I fight against the man with all my strength, but he is too strong.
          With no warning, a loud bang soars through the air, making my ears ring.
The man's grip loosens as he falls to the ground. A red splotch of blood covers his shirt where he got shot.
          The turns his head to the window, and I see a girl with a shot gun sitting on one of the branches.
          The boy turns his attention to me. He runs over to me and gives me a big hug.
          "I'm so glad that you're okay," he says.
          "Okay?" I reply back.
          The boy proceeds to grab my hand, and lead me to the window. This time he lets me go first.
