Mystic Falls - Present Day
Damon poured himself a drink and sat in front of the fire. He was furious with Stefan but that didn't stop him from helping his little brother. Last night, Elena had tricked Stefan and given him vervain. Then with Damon's help they had locked him up in the cellar. Damon had left with Alaric and he had specifically told Elena to not go downstairs but what did she do? Ding! Ding! Ding! If you're guess was that she went downstairs, then you my friend are a winner.
Elena's undying faith for Stefan ended up saving the day, when she left the door open for him. At first, Stefan had left without his ring. The ring was the only thing that protected them from the sun and without it, Stefan would burn. Luckily, Elena had found him and even managed to convince him to come back.
Now, it is morning and Rose was still upstairs sleeping. Damon had woken up early and he didn't know how to handle the situation, so he did the only thing he knew how to do. He returned to being a dick. His ears perked up as he heard a distinct noise coming from upstairs.
Apparently Rose had woken up. Damon stayed in his seat. There was no point in helping her while she was conscious. Rose was still angry with him, she made that perfectly clear when he saw her with Tyler. That guy was so lucky he was in public or else Damon would have ripped his head off. Especially when Rose kissed him. It may have been on the cheek but to Rose, his sweet innocent Rose, that meant something more.
"Hmph!"
Damon rolled his eyes as Rose walked past him and walked over to the kitchen. "Ahh the silent treament. Need I remind you Rose, you're not very good at it."
Rose paused at the door and glared profusely at him, making Damon chuckle.
"Oh come on Rosalinda, can't we just let bygone's be bygones?" Damon stood up, his drink in hand. Rose's eyes widened and she looked around, almost as if remembering something scary. "Why are you so scared? Oh...right, the whole Stefan thing. He's not here, if that's what you're worried about."
Rose remained silent though she visibly relaxed before turning away and walking into the kitchen. "I'd like a sandwich, extra pickles por favor!" Damon teased as he walked in after her. Rose's eyebrow furrowed and he walked over to her, mocking exasperation. "God, you're hopeless!"
"How so?" Rose spat as she watched him prepare two 'sandwiches'.
Damon smirked. "Ha! I knew you couldn't resist speaking to me! Now tell me Rose, was it my style, my devilishly charming looks or my irresistable personality?"
Rose glared at him. "So this is the new you? A completely and total scondrull!"
Damon chuckled. "It's the twenty first century babe, we don't use 'scondrull' anymore. I believe the word you are looking for is dick!"
"Why are you talking to me?" Rose asked honestly, catching Damon off guard.
"I do not know what you mean, my dear Rose," he said cooly.
Rose shook her head. "What I mean is, I do not want anything to do with you yet you still choose to speak to me. My question is why?" Damon remained silent. "I am completely grateful for you saving me yesterday but it does not change anything between us."
Damon nodded, though her words hurt him more than he'd be willing to admit. "I know. Who said I wanted anything?" He leaned in closer to her and handed her the sandwich. She bit into it and her eyes rolled back. It tasted amazing. Damon saw her expression and smirked. "No need to thank me. I'm just that good." He paused. "See I can be civil with you and seeing as you're going to live here, I thought we could atleast pretend to get along. And don't worry I already compelled Caroline into bringing your stuff over later. You're welcome!"
