Hello! So I started writing a new book and I was just wondering if people would actually be interested in reading it. I won't start posting full chapters until the book is complete because I hate having to wait very long for updates. I'm just posting this "coming soon" type of thing to see if I should even bother. Also, this preview is more like the prologue so it's not the beginning of the first chapter. Hope you enjoy this synopsis and sneak peak! And please tell me if I should continue it! (:

Synopsis:
My name is Andromeda Daniels. Yes, I am aware that my name is... well, unique. My mom, being a literature teacher, decided to name me after the Ethiopian princess in the Greek legend of Perseus. She was the original “damsel in distress”, and for some reason, my mom thought that would be appropriate to name her only daughter. In the story, Andromeda was tied up as an offering, but she was so beautiful that as soon as Perseus saw her, he rushed in to save her from a sea monster. The irony in this is that no one ever notices my existence. They never take a second glance at me. This is most likely due to the fact that I've never been considered pretty, or sporty, or talented in any way. I've always been that smart girl in the corner. Well, somewhat smart. I figured it'd stay that way for the rest of my high school life. Boy, was I wrong.
“Don’t worry, Andromeda,” he said with a huge smirk on his face. “I’ll be your Perseus.”
~
Now, Andromeda must face many changes in her once secure life--the hardest being her moving from the beautiful island of Hawaii, to the vast Napa Valley. Can she leave her old life and accept this new one?
Myths and legends are things that Andromeda considers herself an expert in. Thrown into this new environment, she starts making connections between the characters of those stories, to the people in hers. Will she become the "Andromeda" that she's only ever read about?
And in all this, who will be her Perseus? Will it be the musically inclined, Orpheus? The athletically gifted, Adonis? The absolutely conceited, Narcissus? Or will Perseus himself finally be revealed to her?
But one thing is certain: Saving Andromeda is going to be harder than anyone thought.

"MOM!" I exclaimed. I was playing candy crush, already in bed and ready to sleep when I got a text. I jolted straight up after reading it. Holding my phone, I ran out of my bedroom and straight into her room. I held it out to her and asked, "What is this?"
She was lying on her bed with a Percy Jackson book in her hand, also ready for bed. She looked up when I barged in, saw the panicked look on my face, and sat up on her bed. She read the text and looked me in the eye.
"Well, Andy, I think that text is pretty clear," she replied, in her usual sassy tone. Sometimes I really hate that my mom's a teacher. She's told me before that she can't talk like that to her students. Therefore, the only person that she can be sassy and sarcastic to is me.
I rolled my eyes and placed my hand on my hip. "Okay then. Let me rephrase that question. Is it true?"
She looked at me as if the answer was obvious. "Of course, not, Andy, I joke about moving all the time," she replied in one of the most sarcastic tones I've ever heard.
I just gave her an irritated look. "Mom, I'm serious. I'm moving in with Aunt Michelle?"
She sighed. I guess she's finally given up on the sarcasm. "Yes, sweetie. I got a new job and I can't bring you with me this time. I tried to see if you could stay with your father, but with his new wife and her kids, I thought you'd feel out of place."
"What? What about school? What about my friends?" I said, my jaw dropping to the floor. I can't believe this. I finally got used to my high school. I actually have friends. My mom knows me better than anyone. She knows how awkward I am and how hard it is for me to talk to people.
"You'll be attending high school there. Your cousin will be with you. I know you're in shock, honey, but I need this job. We need it."
I just remained silent. I knew we did. I knew we needed money to pay our debt off. But I have to move away?
"When am I leaving?" I asked. I couldn't stand the thought of leaving, but what choice did I have?
"Next week. I have your ticket and everything. You just need to pack." She looked like she was on the verge of crying.
I went over to her bed and hugged her. "This isn't your fault mom. It's dad's."
She squeezed me tighter. "I know you're mad at him, but you shouldn't hate him. He's still your father."
"I wish he wasn't..." I muttered to myself.
"I love you," my mom said.
I smiled a little. "I love you, too."
I got up from her bed to leave. I paused in the doorway and said to her, "And mom, next time you tell me something important, don't text it to me."
She laughed. "Hey, your laziness comes from me."
