Hello. My name is Olivia Michaelson and this is my story. Everybody wants to have a memorable high school year, and so did I. Well, only if you consider nightmares, legends, magic, creepy crawlers and evil villains-filled with teenage drama- memorable for a tenth grader of course. My life had changed the second I stepped into our mysterious school for the second year, but I still wonder: Were the memories worth the consequences they brought? Hell Yeah!

Chapter 1

She was running, deep into the dark and moist forest beyond her. The galloping of horses was getting closer, thus leading her to increase her speed twice as much.

Suddenly, out of the unknown woods, a deep and husky voice shouted "She is close; I can hear her movement in the south". Her body stood perplexed, not responding to her cries to run as fast as she could, the last words she heard from her mother after her life changed completely. Suddenly, the galloping of horses started to get closer towards her.

Without thinking twice, she sprinted away, with all the remaining strength left in her legs, until everything got blank and a familiar voice bought her back to her conscience.

"Wake up sweetie! You're going to be late for school!" cried someone from downstairs. I opened my eyes and inhaled as much air as I could as I sat on my bed, still panting. My heart was thumping against my chest, as I felt drops of cold sweat across my temple. I looked around in order to perceive the familiar surroundings. I was sitting on my bed, in my room, which is situated in my house. Not a creepy forest. I took a sigh of relief and whispered "It was just a dream, a very bad dream" and while repeating this mantra, I went to my bathroom.

After a hot shower, I quickly changed into my school's uniform and looked in front of the mirror. I was wearing a grey plaid skirt that reached the knees, a white collared shirt -which has a picture of a snake with some Latin phrases on it in the breast pocket-that was neatly tucked into the skirt,-a tie with the same design as the skirt and a short gray blazer. I combed my slightly curvy ash brown hair that reached my shoulder blades, tucked my bangs behind my ears and wore my white socks, when suddenly, someone knocked on the door.

"Come in" I shouted, so the person outside could hear it. The door cracked open as my mother came inside wearing an apron and holding a cloth in her hand. "Thank God you're ready!" she said, holding her hand against her chest "Get ready and quickly go downstairs unless you want to miss your first day of sophomore year" and after saying that, she left, leaving the door open as always, which I somehow find completely irritating whenever someone does it.

I went downstairs into the kitchen, grabbed my lunch money, and peeked into the living room to bid my mom adieu, who-as I had hypothesized-was watching her favorite yoga program, while attempting to do the positions shown on the widescreen. "Bye mom! I'm going to school" I said, waiting for her reply. She turned around and asked "Aren't you eating breakfast?" I shrugged and said "Nah, I'll just eat during break time". Suddenly her brown eyes, that resembled mine, started to look teary, while her lips quivered a bit, until a smile was shown, and she tilted her head a little. "Wow, time flies so fast" she said, walking towards me, and cupping my face with one hand while putting my hair behind my ears with the other, 'such a multi-tasker' I thought. "Look at you, turning into such a young and grown up woman" she said, making me hug her "I love you mom, and don't call me a woman, I like being childish" I said, frowning and crossing my hands like a little kid, she giggled and said "don't worry sweetheart, you'll always be the little Oli in your father's and my eyes, speaking of which, Robert is coming tomorrow after he finished his business meeting in India. "I missed dad a lot, I can't wait to see him" I replied, beaming with joy. I loved my parents allot and I doubt I can survive without them. "You should better be going; we don't want a bad impression on the teachers on our first day of school now, do we?" mom said dramatically, with a hand on her hip and another on her chest, faking a gasp.
