-JASON’S POV-
I sat out the front on the porch for hours. It was around 6pm, dinner was ready. I sighed, looking up at the night sky. I’m making so many mistakes with my life, with everything I do. It’s hard having your own family hate you, not knowing your own Dad, or being close with anyone. I had no trust, none at all. I barely trusted myself.
“Jason, dinner is ready.” Mum opened the front door. I looked to her.
“Okay.” I answered, biting my lip.
“You coming in or what?” Mum asked. I sighed, nodding.
“Yeah, in a sec.”I answered. She nodded, walking back inside. I got to my feet, swallowing as I walked inside. Everyone was in the dining room, having a laugh as they were given their meal. I sat in my normal seat, looking down at the food in front of me. Spaghetti, my favorite meal.
“How’d you get that bruise?” Jeremy spoke. We looked to him. Justin sighed.
“Um, in PE…” Justin said. Jeremy looked to my hands, growing a look of anger.
“You punched him, didn’t you?” Jeremy asked.
“What? No.” I replied. Jeremy scoffed.
“Really Jason? Your knuckles are bruised, and my sons face is bruised. Tell me how that works?” Jeremy spat. Great, just great.
“He didn’t hit me.” Justin said.
“Don’t bother trying to cover up for him!” Mum shook her head. I groaned.
“My knuckles are bruised because I hit someone, it wasn’t Justin, it was someone else. Your son got into a punch up with a different guy. Just because someone’s hurt, doesn’t mean I had something to do with it.” I said to Jeremy.
“Who’d he get in a punch up with, then?” Jeremy asked. I sighed, licking my lips.
“A friend of mine, and before you even say another word,” I put a hand up, taking in a breath of air, “I already know what’s coming. You’re going to say that you’re not surprised a friend of mine hit him, and that I’m a bad person for it. Then it’ll escalate into an argument about how horrible of a person I am. Next thing is, I’ll walk out of the room, you’ll all continue being disgusted in my way of life.” I said, earning surprised looks from everyone at the table. I took a sip of water, then stood up. “But I’ll save the argument, and just go to bed.” I grabbed my plate of food, heading to the kitchen.
“Go on and waste your mothers cooking.” Tate muttered. I stopped, taking in a breath.
“I wasn’t planning on wasting it, I was gonna put it in the fridge.” I said, then walked into the kitchen and placed my plate in the fridge. I walked out and into my room, laying on my bed straight away.
-JUSTIN’S POV-
“Is that a good or bad Jason moment?” Erin asked, confused on how to take what had just happened. We were all very shocked, not able to wrap our heads around what just happened.
“You think maybe he’s just lost it?” Jake asked. We looked to him.
“Lost it?” Haley asked, raising a brow.
“You know, finally just snapped, sick of all the fights. Maybe he’ll move out and I can have his room.” Jake shrugged.
“As if that bum would move out.” Tate scoffed, “He’s better off dead in the garbage, a place where him and his father belong.” Tate said.
“Tate, for crying out loud, Jason is still my son.” Haley sighed. I looked at Dad, noticing he looked like he was lost in thought.
“Why any women would want that kid as their son, is beyond me.” Tate replied back. I probably felt a tad sorry for Jason at this moment, I don’t even know why. He’s an asshole, but listening to everyone talk about him like the way they do, just makes me wonder if he actually did die, who would cry?
