Justin's POV
We piled in Chaz's mums mini van, in search of Jason and Tyler. Chaz started the car and began driving around. I felt bad about what I said to Jason at Grandma's, I had no right saying anything about his dad. I knew it angered him, and I shouldn't have opened my huge mouth at all. Jason's business has nothing to do with me.
"Why did he suddenly leave?" Ryan asked.
"We had a bit of an argument in the kitchen." I sighed, frowning.
"An argument? About what?" Taylah furrowed her brows.
"I said some shit about his family that I shouldn't have." I mumbled.
"Like what?" Ellie narrowed her eyes at me.
"I don't know... I mentioned his dad, and yeah..." I sighed shamefully.
"Isn't his Dad Tate?" Ellie raised her brows.
"No..." I replied.
"Who's his Dad?" Chaz asked. I licked my lips.
"I don't know, I've never met him... I just know that he dated my Auntie for a while, and as soon as Jason was born, he saw my Auntie once after that. Jake's his son too, so I think my Auntie had a hook up with him during that time..." I shrugged, not really knowing much about Jason's biological father.
"Must be why he's so messed up..." Ryan muttered. I rolled my eyes. I pulled out my phone, scrolling through my contacts. I needed to find out where Jason was. I found his number, clicking the call button and pressing it to my ear. I got his number from Auntie Haley when I was last at her house. After a few rings, it finally picked up.
"Jason speaking." He answered. I sighed.
"Its Justin, where are you?" I licked my lips.
"How'd you get my number?" Jason groaned.
"Doesn't matter, and tell me where you are. We need to pick you up." I stated.
"On my way home, so don't worry." Jason sighed.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I'm turning myself in, Tyler and I are just going to say our goodbyes okay?" Jason replied.
"What!? Are you crazy!?" I asked in shock. He's an idiot! he'll be killed!
"Maybe I am. Gotta go. Uh, guess this is farewell...." Before I could talk some sense into Jason, he hung up.
"Chaz, head home right now. We need to get there pronto!" I exclaimed.
"Why?" Ellie asked.
"Jason's turning himself in." I stated.
Jason's POV
After taking a long bus ride to our hometown, Tyler and I finally reached my house.
"Meet me by the warehouse in half an hour, okay?" Tyler said, glancing down the road. I looked to the front door of my house.
"Give me forty minutes, I'm gonna grab a few things and have a smoke." I ran a hand through my hair. Tyler nodded.
"What happens, happens." Tyler said before heading down the street. I made my way to the front door, not bothering to knock as I headed straight inside. Immediately, my eyes landed on everyone in the lounge room. I swallowed thickly as their eyes met mine.
"You're not welcome here." Tate spat at me. I didn't care for his attitude, because my mind was running to one thing; This was the last time I was going to see my family. I sighed, scratching the back of my neck.
"I'm just grabbing some things, then leaving..." I replied calmly.
"Where's Justin?" Jeremy stood up, crossing his arms. I licked my lips, glancing at my Mum, then back to Jeremy.
"With his friends, they'll be back in an hour." I stated, shoving my right hand in my pocket. Jade, Jazmyn and Jaxon were sitting on the couch, playing with toys and were oblivious to the tension in the room. Jake was on his phone, texting by the looks of it. Erin, Mum and Tate were sitting on the longer couch, staring right at me. "I'll be out of here in a few minutes." I said, heading towards my room. I rummaged through my drawers, grabbing my smokes, gun and spare hoodie. Once I pulled on the hoodie, I opened my cupboard, grabbing a shoe box.
"Jason?" Jade entered my room. I smiled at her, leaning down and picking her up. "Where are you going?" Jade asked.
"I'm going to stay over a friends." I lied, sighing.
"When are you coming back?" She asked. I frowned, looking away momentarily.
" Listen, I'm not coming back." I sat down, allowing Jade to sit on my lap. She looked up at me confused. "From now on, Jake is going to do all the big brother things, because when your older, jerks are going to flirt with you, and he's got a right to beat them up. Understood?" I smiled. Jade nodded.
"What do you mean?" Jake entered my room suddenly. I looked up at him, sighing.
"I'm going on a permanent vacation." I shrugged, placing Jade on the ground. Jake furrowed his brows. "I got to go." I muttered, exiting the room. I had the gun hidden in my jumper as I walked into the lounge.
"Why haven't you got suitcases packed?" Tate asked. I bit my lip, glancing at the shoebox.
"I'm not going to need my things anymore. Its pretty much just junk, you can thrown it out." I said, opening the shoebox and pulling out an envelope.
"What's that?" Mum asked. I handed it to her.
"That's just some money I had saved up, there's enough to pay for most of the bail money you've spent on me... I can't do much better." I explained, grabbing out a set of keys. I handed them to Mum, and passed the box to Jeremy. "The keys are for the lock on my door, and there's a blue key... if you check in the envelope its got a locker number on it. Its got some things that will probably help you out when I'm gone." I licked my lips.
" What's this all about?" Mum had a look of shock, as did everyone else. If I'm honest, I always knew a day like this was going to come, so I'd prepared a while ago for some kind of goodbye.
"I know that I've ruined your life... well, I'm ruining it. So, I'm going to stay clear of you from now on." I blushed a little at my words, "In a few hours, someone's going to call, and I want you to know that this was my doing... none of its your fault... and I'm sorry for everything." I said, knowing their reply isn't something I wanted to here. Without another word, I quickly turned on my heels, racing to get out of that front door.
"Jason!" Mums voice called, but I couldn't turn back, I hurried down the road , and towards the warehouse, taking a cigarette out and lighting it. I knew that there was no way I could actually look back and not want to change my mind. Tyler and I needed to confront Max, no matter the costs...
