If only (Shakespearean)

A sudden jolt of warmth ran through my spine,

Forthwith engulfed by ambiguous affection,

On its summon, have no might to decline,

Rapidly induced by its delicate illumination.

Dubious to pursue that alluring gleam

Yet opted to chase it with forbearance

Swiftly following my heart's hopeful dream,

Seeking patiently that desired entrance.

Faithful of this feeling, I ran faster and faster

Not losing a glimpse of my chosen fate,

But time went by, it gone farther and farther,

Pursuing another beam, I'm too late.

If only I've known at first, I won't be saddened,

If only I've known, I'll never regret my journey's end.
