MAYA
" You're in my seat," I remarked.
He looked at me with a sarcastic pity face- nice.
" So?" he sassed.
By then, I was raging. From what went on yesterday, I was in no mood to face the guy with the nonsensical attitude in front of me. He had a flannel shirt on with an almost bald haircut. From his appearance, I knew that he wasn't from here, nor, did he go here before.
" Move," I glared, placing my hand on the armrest.
He looked at me with a smirk before doing these weird hand gestures- which ended with a fake disbelief look with both his hands on his chest. Despite my anger issues that morning, I managed to let out a chuckle. With him managing to calm my blood boil, I took a seat right next to him, wanting to start a conversation.
My mind paused for a moment. I have never wanted to start a conversation with anybody else. What was with me and enjoying people's presence? Regardless, I started a small chat before Ms. Oben would come in any minute.
" Who are you?" I asked.
Still smirking, he held out his hand, suggesting that I should shake it- which I did.
" Isaiah Babineaux. Preferably Zay, as my friends used to call me," he introduced himself.
I raised my eyebrows in amusement. As my friends used to call me- a clue that he might be new.
" Ah, so you're new. Tell me, how did you find your way around this large campus of Vedain Law School?" I asked
Immediately, he looked to the front in embarrassment- I knew that from the red glow that was coming out from his cheeks. Smiling, he turned back to me.
" See this sweet brunette came up to my lost self, asking if I needed help. She was as cute as a puppy and excited too. I think her name was Miley Flachews, or something," he shrugged.
I chuckled at his guess for her name. From his description of the girl, I knew who it was. The only person around here that I took notice that would come up to a guy who needed help with a perky attitude was none other than-
" Her name is Riley, Riley Matthews," I corrected him.
Just then, the door opened, revealing the over-excited puppy that always had a smile on her face, regardless of what was happening. All that was on my mind was- Speak of the Bunny. My thoughts began to turn into anger. Lucas must have told his sister.
" Good morning, fellow Law students," she greeted with her usual morning self, " Good news, we are working with the Medical students today to learn how to work with clients," she announced.
The class began to get louder with everybody commenting on this. And that was when I realized that Lucas was in Medical school.

" Working with the evidence. Now where do you get evidence from? From sources. And sometimes, your sources come in different shapes and sizes. There is a high probability that they might be in human form too," Matthews started.
The whole class chuckled, except for us. He just kept his eyes straight along with his emotions. My eyes have not moved away from him ever since he took his seat. Feeling uncomfortable, I excused myself to get myself out of the stiff air in that room.
As I walked down the hallway, I heard footsteps from behind me. Thinking it was some random lecturer, I continued walking.
" Maya," he called out.
Immediately, I knew who it was. I sped up, not wanting to come in contact with me.
" Maya, I know!" he got my attention.
Once I heard those words, I fumed. Knowing that he knew a secret that would kill mr deep inside, made me angrier at him than anyone else.
As I slowly turned her head, with my eyebrows scrunched and my eyes glaring with fire despite the softness in her my eyes, I faced him.
I walked towards him, heels clicking as I walked faster and faster. He didn't know what to do, he stood still, with fear paralyzingly his whole body. I could tell that watching me come dangerously closer to him made him regret knowing the other side of me.
As I came closer to him, I held out her forearm as I used it as a force to slam him into the lockers, leaving a pain on his lower back as I glared daggers into his eyes.
" You didn't see anything, Lucas," I spat.
" You're right. I didn't," he shot back, " But I heard it,"
Giving up, I chose to walk away, shaking my head. I can't just let him in. I barely know him. He just had to crawl through the bay window.
" Maya, you can't just keep living life by blocking people out!" he shouted.
I sighed, praying to dear God I won't fall for this. Instead, I hummed.
please don't let them look through the curtains
