Chapter 2
Annabelle's POV
We reached the airport an hour before our flight so we had plenty of time to browse in the shops, more specifically a bookshop.
I'm addicted to books, like literally. I spend most of my time reading alone on my windowsill, getting lost in the world of fiction. I love how each book is different and unique, how easy it is to lose yourself for a couple of hours and escape reality, even if it's just for a little while.
So I wandered around the book store for a little bit but I didn't find anything worthwhile. Disappointed, I started looking around for my mom and eventually found her sitting at our boarding gate.
"Did you buy another book Anna?", she asked rather tiredly.
"Nope, I've read most of the books in the store. I think I'll just settle for my blanket and my pillow during the flight, I need to catch up on my sleep.", I yawned.
"I know how you feel honey, this move has been rather stressful. At least we're going home!"
We boarded the flight ten minutes later and were flying to California in no time. I spent most of the flight curled up against the side of the plane, slipping in and out of dreamland.
After five and a half hours cooped up on an aeroplane, the seatbelt sign lit up and our descent began. I love the feeling when the aeroplane descends, it's like your stomach rises to your throat and the adrenaline starts flowing. We landed about thirty minutes later and after a round of applause for the pilot for landing the
plane safely, I walked onto Californian soil for the first time in four years.
"It's good to be back.", I whispered to myself.
We followed the other passengers like a heard of sheep to the baggage collection. I kept my eyes peeled for my bright blue polka-dot suitcase. We stood there for what felt like a millennium until I finally saw our cases. Mom collected our cases and put them on a trolley. We rolled the trolley to immigration and passed through after our passports were scrutinised.
We waked through the arrival doors to be greeted by a sign with "Molly and Annabelle's Entourage" on pink card written in big black letters. But who was holding the card shocked me most.
It was my ex best friend, the guy who cut me out of his life for the past two years, yes ladies and gentlemen it was the one and only Tyler Grey.
