Chapter 5: Confusion

"Alice you can't leave like this!" Lea stumbled as she ran after the two walking away. "Please!"
Tears streaming down her face, Lea slowed down and stopped running. "I won't give up on you!!"
Alice and Daniel were holding hands tightly as they left the crying girl.

Who is that girl? Why was she following us? Why won't she just leave me alone..stupid mortal!

"My love, do you know her?" Alice looked over to her boyfriend beside her.
"Oh..her? She's just another stupid mortal. Those humans are extremly annoying, do me a favour and get rid of it."
Alice smiled. "Whatever you wish my love." She walked over to the crying girl and smiles sweetly to her. Lea stood up straight, their eyes in line. Alice pressed a finger against her jaw and slowly run it along her face. Eventually, she placed her finger upon Lea's lips. Looking down, Alice licked her lips. All she wanted at that moment was to sink her teeth into Lea's neck and drink her blood until she ran dry. She held Lea's neck tightly and held her up against the tree, choking the girl. A single year rolled down Lea's cheek. Fear could not begin to describe how she felt in this moment. Daniel saw the scene unravel before him. Seeing his bets friend being killed, was this really what he wanted? His mind spun. He couldn't watch her die..no! It had to be done but not while he was there.
"Alice stop!' he shouted 'Don't kill her I'm begging you!"
She sighed and dropped Lea to the ground. "Anything you wish."
Lea lay against the tree breathing heavily And rubbing her neck where Alice's hand was. Had that really happened? Why was it so easy to get her off? Alice kneeled down so, once again, their eyes were locked on each others.
"Please don't be afraid of me Lea," she spoke softly and quietly, a sweet smile upon her face. "I assure you, I won't be gone for long." She placed Her hand on Lea's cheek and leaned in close to her. Blood rushed to Lea's cheeks. She blushed slightly as Alice leaned closer to her face. She felt Alice's cold hands against her skin. Her lips parted slightly as if they were about to kiss.
Alice whispered into her ear, "Don't give up on me, I'll be waiting." She then got up and patted her head before walking back over to her so called boyfriend. Lea stared in shock As the two walked away again, hand in hand.
It took everything she had for Alice not to turn back. It was best she stayed with Daniel. She squeezed his hand tightly looking down.
"Is everything okay babe?" He looked over at her, Alice looked as though she would burst into tears at any minute, though only a single tear made it down her face. Still, she nodded. "Yes, Daniel, I'm completely fine."

Why? Why do I...Why do I feel like this? I want to rip her throat out and lick the blood off her neck. I want to see as she takes her last breath. As she dies in my arms. I want to be the person to run her dry and drink until she lives no more. I want to...No! Shes  my best friend how could I even consider killing her. Kill...what a horribly satisfying word.

Lea sighed softly. What had just come home over her? Those feelings that overcame her in that moment. The urges she felt when Alice was so close to her..But why? Why didn't Alice kill her?
"A-Alice!" She tried to call for her friend but they were already too far away. She stared hopelessly into the distance.

"Daniel, where are we going?" They had walked for hours through the woods. Before them stood an old church, it looked as though the walls would crumble at a touch. Leaves run up the walls and around the archway into the church. Even if it were falling apart, it was an amazing sight.

"Daniel..This place is beautiful. " She took a step onto the path and into the archway but was pulled back by Daniel.
"Be careful Alice, okay? I don't want you getting hurt." For a dead boy he had such a sweet smile that melted Alice's heart everytime. She clasped his hand in hers.
"I don't need to be careful. I know you'll protect me." Her smile was enough to light a whole town. Daniel placed a lip on her cheek before leading her into a church. He kept a tight hold on her hand. As they walked in she looked around the church. It was completely empty. There was nothing but rocks inside.
Alice let go of Daniel's hand and wandered off alone. The church was huge, much bigger than any other place she'd been before. It was as beautiful inside as it was outside. She continued to walk around the church, exploring every inch of the place. An hour past and Alice grew tired of walking so she decided to take a break. She sat on a rock and leant against the wall. As she leant back the walls crumbled. She ran as fast as she could, barely escaping the rocks falling behind her.
"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Alice ran in the direction that she had come from, looking for Daniel. As she ran to the exit she saw Daniel in the corner of her eye. She turned to see him laying on the ground, completely covered in rocks.
"Daniel!" She began to run towards him as the wall behind her crumbled.
Still, she tried to help Daniel as the wall began to fall, the way it was heading it looked as though it would fall on her.
Suddenly two hands wrapped around her waist and pulled her away as the wall fell on top of Daniel.
"Daniel! Daniel no!" She looked around to see the person holding her was Lea. "Lea let me go I have to help him! Please!" Tears streamed down her face as she was carried out of the church and she lost sight of Daniel. When they got out of the church, they saw it all fall apart. Alice fell to her knees crying hysterically.
"Why would you do that?! Why would you leave him like that?!"
