Chapter 4: Undead revenge

'Alice..What happened to you?' Lea stared in disbelief at her friend that stood before her.

'I told you, leave or I will end you.'

'No..! Alice you know who I am you know why I'm here! Alice, I'm your best friend..You--' Lea didn't manage to finish her sentence before she felt Alice's ice cold hand upon her face. She hit hard and left a red mark on Lea's cheek. Shocked, Lea looked into Alice's eyes. Alice stared back at her with cold lifeless eyes, showing no emotion. A gust of wind blew past but Alice stayed still. Her long black hair blew in the wind covering her eyes, but Lea could still feel her stare piercing through her soul. This wasn't the Alice she knew. This wasn't her friend.

'Now leave.' Alice's voice showed no signs of life, no signs of joy nor sadness. Anger nor stress. She seemed almost..gone. It seemed as though nobody was there. All life had left her body.  Alice was gone. Alice was lifeless. Alice was dead.

'Not until you remember me, please Alice.' Lea placed her hands firmly on Alice's shoulders, holding her directly in front of her. She locked her eyes on Alice's.

'Get off me!' Alice resisted as much as she could but she couldn't escape Lea's tight hold on her. Still, her eyes glowed red as Alice tried to attack Lea. She knew this feeling, she had felt it before. Her once dead eyes suddenly brightened, her lips curled slightly into a smile. Calmly, Alice placed her hands on top of Lea's and removed them from her shoulders. The feeling of Lea's hands on her sparked some memories.

Lea, I do...I do know who you are..I do remember you..

Lea looked both confused and delighted as her best friend wrapped her arms around her and hugged her tightly.
"Lea.." Alice looked up at her smiling, "How did I ever forget you?"
Lea didn't respond but continued to embrace Alice.
The girls had forgotten he was there when the mysterious man laughed. They looked over at him to see him clapping.
"What a beautiful reuinion, really." He looked up smirking,the shadow from his hat preventing seeing his eyes. "Brought a tear to my eyes"
With a clenched fist Alice moved closer to the man. "I haven't forgotten what you did either."
"Beautiful girl, you've finally returned to us."
"You have no right to speak to me as a friend bastard!" Once again, Alice pulled out her pocket knife but this time she hesitated.

I can't let Lea see me kill..She'll never forgive me.

Alice turned around to see her friend, she stood a safe distance away from her and the man. Lea stared at her in disbelief. Her friend wasn't capable of murder. She couldn't believe Alice would really do something like this.
Alice let out a sigh "Lea.." she dropped the knife and the man smirked "Lets go home."
Lea smiled "Okay, let's go." She grabbed Alice's hand and lead her away from the man.
"D-Do you know where Daniel is?" She hadnt seen her boyfriend since she died.
"No I don't, he left earlier."
"Oh okay."
Behind them they could hear footsteps coming slowly closer, by the sounds of it the footsteps had come from behind the man. A lot behind him.
The footsteps came to a stop directly behind  Alice. The presence was familiar. She turned around to see who it was.
"I'm right here." She automatically recognised that voice. She loved it.
"Daniel.." He stood before her now.
"So, I heard correctly?" He smiled, revealing two sharp teeth. "You're one of us now?"
"

Daniel, when did you?"
"Remember that car crash I almost died in?" He shook his head and laughed a little. "Almost?"
Alice nodded. "I understand."
"My dear Alice, you do know that since you're one of us now you cannot keep in touch with the human world?"
Her face filled with horror. "Yes I can! You did!"
"I'm different."
"Different how?!" She clenched her fists shouting.
"Different as in I'm in charge and you're not. You're new here, you must obey me"
"Daniel when did you become such a narcissistic dick!"
With a wave of Daniel's hand, her face went blank. Her muscles, limp.
"I'm sorry my love, let's leave. These strange people annoy me."
