Ridley's POV

Me, Ryder and Kitty were sat in the back garden of the James Evans household. Me and Kitty doing various stretches. Ryder taking full advantage of my Netflix account. Kitty was in her Hollister vest, grey track pants and hi-tops. I was in my black vest, grey track shorts and battered white converses.

"We have sectionals in a few weeks and you haven't been to practice since tryouts" Kitty moaned as I pushed her leg closer to her body while she laid on her back.

"I know the routine, I'm better at practicing on my own" I explained. There was a large bang that emitted from Ryder's iPod.

"Why are you even here?" I asked Ryder, I admit rudely.

"Sam and Blaine are coming around" Ryder replied.

"Well you'll see enough of them tonight. We're going clubbing" I explained. Ryder snorted in derision.

"Where are you gonna go clubbing in Lima?" Ryder laughed.

"I can understand how you wouldn't know given your current social status so I'll have to explain. There's a new club opening in town called Lima red" I explained doing a scorpion.

"Can I just say that out free period ended an hour ago" Kitty pointed out. I laughed.

"We're being good citizens and showing our visitors around" I explained, justifying was my strong suite.

"Are you actually planning on going in today?" Kitty enquired.

"Hell no ditch days with Sam are the best" I laughed. Though I haven't actually seen him since the week of Uncle Dave's funeral, I didn't how he was.

"And you're both invited" Sam shouted entering the back garden. He dropped his suitcase and lifted me into one of his bear hugs.

"What's up Rid?" Sam laughed.

"Oh you know life" I replied. Sam laughed. Sam dropped me. He had colour in his face this time, he was no longer the pale form of my cousin. He was more of a brother if I was being honest.

"So..? I guess we're substituting Costa for the lima bean" Sam decided. Kitty and Ryder looked confused.

"Triple chocolate cocoa" I explained. They looked even more confused.

"We started the ditch day when I was five" I snapped.

"Well these two are planning on going back to school so let's go" I ordered pushing Sam playfully.

"Wait up" Ryder and Kitty shouted. Kitty linking her arm with mine.

"So have you decided on which one you want to be with yet?" Sam asked me while we both queued in the Lima bean.

"Well I kind of ditched Ryan and I have no intention of getting involved with Ryder, he's my best friend. Kitty though is a different story" I responded eyeing both Ryder and Kitty up as I did so. I wasn't exactly truthful about no intention of being with Ryder. I could see myself with someone like him but I didn't date so there was really to reason to speculate.

"You and Kitty are like the same person but you and Ryder just seem to fit and thats after seeing you together for only an hour" Sam announced crossing his arms.

"There would be too much drama with that one" I explained.

"Listen I know you have walls built up. I mean metaphorically. But someday you'll have to let those walls down" Sam whispered as we got closer to the cashier.

"I can tell that even if I did have walls then they wouldn't be coming down" I shot.

"Can I help you?" The cashier asked me. Sam looked sad and shocked at the same time. I know he was only looking out for me. But those walls were there for a good reason. They weren't there to keep people out, they were there to reign me in.
