Haven’t you ever heard of stranger danger?” I reply to this random boy in a car that just saved my life.
“Yea, well they don’t look very friendly, do they?” The boy says seriously and with a large hint of sarcasm in his voice as he points to the black car.
“And you have a gun,” I say pointing to a gun in the car and cocking my head to the side.
“To shoot them!” he points harshly to the black car again, “Get in the car!” he says obviously frustrated with me.
“Prove it!”
He lifts the gun and shot at the man in the passenger seat and he hit him in the arm. “Now, Rosemary!”
“How do you know my name?” I say a little freaked out.
“GET IN!” He sounds as if he’s about to snap my neck.
“Damn. I’m getting in,” I reply as I hop into the car and shut the door. We take off going way over the speed limit. The boy in the driver’s seat pulls out his gun again, then leans out the window and starts to shoot at the men in the car.
I yelp quite loud as I see the man in the passenger seat of the child molester van get shot right in the head and fall forward and hit his head on the dashboard from the impact of the bullet.
I watch, scared shitless I might add, as we pull out of the neighborhood, also going much faster than the speed limit, and head towards the highway. He leans out the window one last time to shoot the black car’s tires. He hit the front two wheels and the car swerves off the road, luckily no other cars were nearby.
The car looks like one of those terrible accidents they show you pictures of in health class to get kids to not drink and drive. I start to calm down just a little bit, as there are no long scary men chasing us with guns, but there aren’t really a lot of things here to not be completely freaked out about.
“They’ll be back, they’ll keep following us,” The boy commented.
I was horrified by what just happened, I mean this stuff only happens in movies, right? I look out the window as we pass by my high school and then I realize, I’m not going to go back to school tomorrow, in fact, I may never ever go back to that school ever again. We both didn’t talk as we got onto the highway.
