Laurel  and I were sitting  in the living  room. We were giggling  like crazy. Rocky  walks  in and looks at Laurel. "Your maids want to show you  a dress they made for your birthday." Laurel  nods, waves goodbye to me, and walks  out. Rocky  stares at me. "What?" I ask. He shakes his head at me. "I hope you  know that you just can't live in this house and expect all of us to immediately  trust you." I look at him. "I- I wasn't  expecting  you guys to." He scowls at me. I remember  something  that I saw a few months  ago. I had seen Rocky  getting  bullied. I think  they were calling  a wuss because  he was so quiet. "Does your family  know?" I ask him. "What?" He asks me. "Does your family  know about  you getting  bullied?" His eyes widen. "How do you  about  that? No one is supposed  to  know." I smile  sadly. "I was walking  to my old school  and I saw  these guys pushing  you against  a wall. They called you a wuss for being so quiet. I can't  believe  whites  even hate on other whites." I shake my head. "You  wouldn't  know how it feels to  be bullied so lay off." He sits down. "Really?" I ask  "Every  single  morning  some type of hate  is aimed towards  me, because  of my skin color. Once I was beaten  and slapped  because  of my skin color. I know  how it feels." His eyes widen. "I- I didn't  know it was that bad." I scooted  closer to him. "Kids like us will get along  in life just fine." He smiles  at me. "I trust you  now." And I trust you. You and your family.
