Maybe it was a bad idea following Matt, but hey mike was full of bad ideas. Like that one time he followed Matt out into the woods ha ha ha that was funny.

"Maybe it's bad to talk to yourself and find a way to be sarcastic in your head' mike thought as he continued down the path he guessed Matt had gone down.

A small chill ran down his spine and he started walking faster, why Sam had thought camping in the middle of winter was a good idea he'll never know. The 19 year old shook his head in discomfort as if shaking his thoughts clear from his head, Matt he needed to find Matt.

'Why?' His mind questioned.

He didn't know how to answer that, because there was simply no answer. Matt and mike had been almost as close as Chris and Josh at one point when they were young but then the two boys went there separate ways and just didn't have time for hanging out. Mike had sighed up for class president working out speeches trying to straighten out his record... Trying was the key word, not succeeding. And Matt had started sports, which meant putting off music practice with Chris (chris played the tuba and Matt played the piccolo) and the ultimately dedicating himself fully to his sports.

Mikes mind wandered when he did, walking around alone was one of his pet (fears) hates. Mike had no idea where he was going by now and he had no idea how to get back, as he looked around he realised that none of this place was familiar at all.

"Fuck." He said audibly.

He spun round when he heard the cracking of a twig, something was there with him....

"BOO!" Matt jumped out of nowhere and scared mike.

Mike stumbled back and fell to the ground, he was cursing his head off (something about Christmas cake) while Matt laughed and had to lean on a tree for support.

"Holy shit fucking crap Matt, you don't just sneak up on people in he middle of the woods, it's scary!" Mike complained.

Matt laughed and held out a hand, which mike took thankfully if not begrudgingly.

"Screw you Matt." Mike stood up and brushed the sort of his clothes.

"To think I came out looking for you." Mike mumbled bitterly.

"Didn't say you had to." Matt retorted.

The two males looked at each other, an started laughing. A small water drop landed on mikes nose, he looked up to see dark grey clouds over head. Before he knew it the sky was pouring down rain.

'Fuck this shit' mike thought as Matt dragged him through the woods in order to get out of the rain

---

Mike and Matt stumbled blindly through the rain, both equally afraid of tripping over and making a fool of themselves. Matt was in the lead, pulling Mike behind quickly trying to get out of the rain.

"Over there!" Matt shouted over the storm.

Mike looked in the direction that mat was pulling him, it was a small opening that looked like a small cave.
Matt shoved mike forcefully in the dry and mostly clean cave (bar the dirt and bug that seemed to cover the floor), then hurried in himself.

They both slumped down on the dry cave floor and made an unspoken agreement to wait the storm out, together they sat cold and drenched in the small claustrophobic cave.
Mike looked around awkwardly his gaze slowly meeting Matt's who gaze was trained stubbornly on the ground.

"Thanks for- you know the thing with em." Mike coughed out awkwardly, after an extended period of time (that mike secretly hated). Mike was never good with apologises, so saying he was sorry to the younger male in front of him made mike even more awkward.

"It's ok dude, em was being a bitch." Matt smiled sheepishly.

"Holy fucking shit" mike said looking taken aback, "Mathew did you just... Swear?" Mike exclaimed thankful that he had a good reason to change the subject.

Matt shoved mike playfully and looked out near the lip of the cave, "it's going to be a while till it stops raining, we'll probably have to stay the night." Matt confirmed.

Mike shivered not wanting to stay in the small dark cave that was slightly damp from the rain that got inside, Matt stood up and looked around.

"Damn it!" He exclaimed and kicked a near by stone.

"What." Mike asked trying to find the source of the darker skinned males aggravation.

"We left our bags at the camp." Matt said sadly.

"So now we don't have" mike ticked the things they didn't have off on his fingers, "food, blankets, a tent and well anything. Fan-fucking-tastic." Mike threw his hands up in frustration.

"At least we have water." Matt gestured to the rain.

Hearing no response from mike Matt added, "I was just trying to be helpful."

But Matt was always trying to be helpful, that's the reason everyone liked (or put up with) him, he was a good guy at heart. A pushover sometimes but a good guy overall, and when mike looked up and saw matt looking around the empty cave for supplies he couldn't help but feel a little bit of affection for the younger male.
