*Sad backstory*

"Here take him back! All he does is hide in his room and ignore us!"
Bashful sighed. This was the 3rd family that adopted him and gave him back. He thought he would never be adopted.

"M-Mommy..." He groaned. His "mother" put him down in front of the adoption center desk. "I am not your mother! You will never have a mother! Don't you know that no one likes a stubborn brat?!"

Tears built up in Bashful's eyes. "I-I'm not stubborn...I'm shy..."
"Well no one likes a shy kid either! Goodbye!" She walked out angrily.

Small three year old Bashful stood there and cried. When would his birth mother ever come back like she promised?

He waited.
"Ha! Look at the shy kid! Skipping dinner again! He's going to look like a twig if he keeps doing that!"

And waited some more.
"Seriously? You're still sad after eight years? Grow up man!"

And a little more.
"You're fourteen already. Stop looking outside, she's not coming back.

After waiting for so long.
"Now that you're over eighteen, you cannot stay here anymore."

Bashful was forced to leave. All on his own. He lived in the Jollywood woods for five years. With nothing but the warmth and comfort of the woodland creatures.

Then one night, Bashful went into town. He had no idea where he would go, since he didn't have any money.

But trouble was near. "Hey look it's that shy guy from the orphanage!" His old bullies were there. "He's still alive? Wow I thought he killed himself already."

Bashful walked faster. But one of the bullies yanked his arm back. He threw Bashful hard against a wall. "I bet you wish you had your mommy now..." He cracked his knuckles.

"Hey!" Someone shouted. "Leave him alone!" Bashful turned his head. His vision was blurry so he couldn't get a perfect view of the unknown figure.

The figure got closer. "Bullying isn't right!" He sneezed the bullies to who the hell knows where.

Bashful opened his mouth in shock. How the hell did he just do that?!

"Hey... Are you alright?" Bashful didn't move. He hadn't spoken to a human in years. And no one had ever stood up for him like that.

"My name is Sneezy." He reached out his hand. Bashful took it and stood up, rubbing his head softly. "You live alone in the woods, right? One of my brothers said he always sees you alone in the woods."

Bashful nodded. Sneezy smiled. "Well I think we can change that." He took Bashful's hand. Leading him to a big cottage.

Sneezy opened the door. "Hey guys! I think I found us a new member!" Bashful swallowed hard. Member of what?

"A new member? We agreed on six!" The angry dwarf said. "I didn't." Sneezy rolled his eyes.

Then Bashful appeared shyly. He looked around the room. Admiring every nook and cranny. "Well? Does he talk." The same angry dwarf said.

"Is he like Dopey?" One drowsy dwarf asked. Bashful hid again. "Interesting... He's a shy one." Said the dwarf with red glasses.

"Aww shy people are adorable! They always blush a lot!" The cheery dwarf said.

Bashful's eyes widened. He'd been bullied his whole life because of his shyness. "R-Really?" He squeaked.

"Of course! You'll fit in just fine with us!"
Bashful was confused. "B-But how? You guys d-don't seem shy..."

"He meant that all of us here each have a different personality that makes us, us." Sneezy explained.

The angry dwarf still didn't agree with them. "Tsk." He turned his head away from them.

Besides Grumpy, Bashful had never felt so accepted in his whole life. The smart dwarf, known as Doc, patted Bashful on his back.

"Welcome to the family, Bashful."

*End of backstory*

Bashful sighed. "I can never go back to that." He closed his old diary and placed it back where he hid it. Underneath his and Sneezy's bed.
