Christen's POV

What had started as a mild headache had turned into tight stomach pains and a pounding migraine overnight. I had been laying in bed trying to decide whether I should call Kelley, or one of the other girls. I could barely roll over without ending up in various degrees of pain.

I had come to the conclusion that telling anyone would hinder my chance of being aloud the train today. We had a friendly match against Germany in less then a week and practice almost every day leading up to it. Playing against Germany will never be easy, and if we hope to win we have to train. I want my spot in the starting eleven for the game, it feels like forever since I last started in an international game. If anyone was to find out that I'm sick coach wouldn't let me train. I'll have to suck it up for today.

I groaned loudly sitting up in my bed, I regret this already. Slowly I made my way into the adjoining bathroom, with a quick sigh I looked at myself in the mirror while I steadied myself against the counter. Under my eyes where dark, my cheeks pale, and my lips semi cracked. It definitely was not a good look. Maybe a shower would help, wash it off somehow.

I turned the taps on in the shower to almost completely hot, go big or go home right? I scrubbed myself from head to toe at least three times trying to wash off the sickness, my efforts where completely in vain. 'Whyyyyy,' I groaned out putting my head in my hands. May as well get into my gear then I guess. Wrapping my towel around myself I walked out into the hotel room.

'Oh... Hi,' Tobin murmured from her side of the room.

'Sorry, I thought you had gone earlier,' I explained collecting my training gear.

'No no it's okay, I just wanted to know if you wanted to walk today?' She asked, her cheeks a light red colour... Weird.

'Um sure, I'll uh just get changed,' I told my roommate while walking back into the bathroom. Wow I can't believe I just did that, I should have known better then walking around the place in a towel. Smart move Press.

'You look a little unwell, are you okay?' Tobin asked once I returned from the bathroom.

'Yeah I'm one hundred percent fine, I don't know what you're talking about,' I lie, right as another burst of pain shoots through my stomach, I grin through the pain hoping she wouldn't notice.

'Oh, okay, well, we should go then,' the midfielder grins, almost nervously.

We only had to walk two block down, I know we usually take the bus, but I like to spend as much time with Tobin as possible without being interrupted. It's not that I like her, because believe me I don't, I just think she's pretty cool. We spent the time joking about our teammates and talking about pretty much anything and everything. I felt like I was going to pass out a few times, probably just the heat. There was one time I pretty much did, but luckily Tobin had been there to catch me before I did anything serious. I remember just seeing her eyes, and her red cheeks, those especially. She was quite muscular, I've never quite noticed until I was in her arms, why do I sound like I have a crush on her?

She asked multiple times if i was okay, almost like she cares. Which she doesn't because we're friends, and she just wants to make sure I can play.

'We're here Chris,' She told me dragging me from my thoughts.

'Are you always red? Or are you sunburnt, because you really are red today,' I blurted out, I couldn't help but notice it all morning.
