Vanessa's POV:
The drive to school was awkward. I mean how can it not be awkward when I almost just kissed the guy? Honestly, I'm trying to think of a time when it's not awkward. And it's of course it's going to be even more awkward when I was the one who tried to stop it (which thank God I did).
After a car ride of silence we finally pulled up to a large white building. It was a one story, but it was big enough to hold, oh, let's say at most 1000 kids, which was extremely small compared to what the numbers were in Vegas. Suddenly I felt a slight wave of homesickness. I realized that when I finished this year and than the next, I would have graduated without all of the people that I had grown up with.
Harry parked the car near the front of the school. We both got out and walked toward the entrance.
"So, do you have your schedule?" He asked me. They were the first words he said to me since the 'almost kiss.'
"No. But I'll go into the office and get it."
"You mean we will. I'm your tour guide, remember?" He smiled at me and I knew my cheeky boy was back to normal.
Wait, did I just refer to Harry as mine in my head?
Harry opened the front door for me and we both walked into the school together. Once I saw the other kids I kind of relaxed. They had pretty much the same style as me, but maybe mine a little bit edgier and darker, and by that I mean by my totally ripped jeans and my black leather combat boots.
As we got farther down the hall people started to notice us and whisper. What, they never saw two people walking down the school hallway together?
"Why are they whispering at us?...What's wrong?" The second I looked at him I knew something was up. His face had transformed into a scowl and his hands into fists.
"Nothing. Just keep on walking." He growled.
"Ok, there is seriously something wrong with you. Start talking." I said, folding my arms and staying where I
was.
"Yes, Harry, start talking." I snapped my head around and saw a girl with blonde hair and cold looking blue eyes. She was extremely skinny, had high cheekbones and a nose job if I ever saw one. Her top barely counted as a shirt and as for her skirt? I had no idea they made them that tiny. She looked like a total bitch. And so did her friends. If I were anywhere else I would have been laughing so hard right now, they all had identical nose jobs and breasts. It was so pathetic.
"Who's this." We both said at the same time, looking at Harry.
"Vanessa, this is my ex girlfriend Taylor-" Of course
"You mean your girlfriend Taylor." Taylor glared at him, as if she was seeing how far he would test her limits.
"No, I do think I mean ex girlfriend."
Taylor's pretty little face twisted into an ugly one. "Watch your back." She told me, and I knew that I was in trouble.
She turned around with her group, flipped their hair and walked away. Lovely, it was my first day of school and I already had drama.
"Vanessa, I'm sorry you had to see that. I didn't know she still thought we were together. And she won't hurt you, I promise."
"It's okay. But your taste in girlfriends suck."
He laughed and we started walking. Everything in the world was perfect again without that bitch Taylor.
We got my schedule from the office and then he walked me to my advisory. Apparently one of his friends girlfriends was in the same advisory as me which he sounded pretty happy about. We hugged and then I went into the classroom, trying to put on a brave face. I hated the fact that I was the new girl. Hated it. I hated the fact that I moved here and I hate the town...but that level of hatred has already lessened since yesterday. It's not that the town has really done anything to make me love it, but it was that it wasn't on my mind as much as it used to be.
But why was that?
As I was walking past the rows of desks I accidentally tripped over a girls backpack. I was about to fall on my face and embarrass myself in front of the whole class but then someone grabbed my arm and stopped me from falling.
I turned around and saw a girl with dark blonde hair and hazel eyes, and maybe about an inch or two taller than me. She wore a Green Bay Packers t-shirt and jeans, and to tip it off she wore blush and mascara.
"Thanks." I said, standing up.
"No problem."
"My names Vanessa." I said, extending my hand.
"Lilli." Lilli smiled and shook it.
"Can I sit next to you or does the teacher have assigned seats?"
"There are, but I seriously doubt Mrs. Brooks will notice."
"Really?"
"Yeah...so you moved here from America?"
I nodded my head. "Vegas."
"Cool. So you know Harry?"
"Yeah. He's my neighbor." I decided that explaining my already complicated relationship with Harry wouldn't be the best idea.
"Are you sure that's all you are to each other?" She asked, her eyebrows raised. "I haven't seen him look at someone like that since he was dating Taylor."
Shit.

Oh...and next chapter you get to meet the boys of 1D for sure! Whoop whoop! And you'll meet about three more people yes are based off real people (and Lilli was based off a real person too). And one last thing... This DEFINITELY won't be the end of Taylor. THAT is something I can guarantee.
