Vanessa's POV:
The next morning I woke up, showered and got ready for the long day ahead of me. Today was, of course, the first day of school. I'd never had to be the new kid at school before, and I can't say that I was scared or nervous for it because I was only dreading it. Being the new girl was something I had no intention of experiencing in my lifetime. Especially here. Ill stick out more than ever here, and that definitely won't help me.
I got out of the shower and picked out my clothes for the day. I chose a white flowing tank top and ripped black skinny jeans, complete with my signature black riding boots. Once that was done I brushed
My hair was as short as a boys (besides my long bangs that fell down the side of my face), so I just let it hang down since basically I couldn't do anything with it. I put on a little bit of mascara (I didn't like makeup too much) and then headed downstairs.
"Hey sweetie! Are you ready for your first day of school?" My mother asked me from the kitchen, flipping a pancake.
"No." I grumbled. I made my way to the island and sat down next to my baby brother, Mason. He was only two. He had brown hair, different from my black, but we both had the same brown eyes.
"Is your backpack all packed and ready to go?" She asked me, sliding a pancake on a plate and handing to me.
"Thanks. And yeah, I packed it last night."
"Well then, your ready to go." She said, smiling. "Oh, and don't bother riding your motorcycle to school."
I frowned. "Why not? That's the only thing that reminds me of home. I always was allowed to ride to school in Vegas why not now?"
"Because the Styles, you know, our neighbors? They have a son that's only a year older than you and he offered to drive you."
"And you said yes? I can drive myself perfectly fine mom."
"I know but it's important that you make friends."
"I don't need any more friends I have enough of them in Vegas."
"Well are we in Vegas now?" My mother asked me, glaring.
I fidgeted in my seat. "Well, uh...no."
"Then it's settled."
The door bell rang.
I groaned. I grabbed my backpack swung it over my shoulder and answered the door.
My jaw dropped. "...Harry?!?!?" I shouted.

Harry's POV:
"Vanessa?!?!?" I was shocked. Vanessa was my neighbor?
"Your my neighbor?" She asked. Her brown eyes sparkled. I looked her up and down. Damn, she looked hot with ripped skinny jeans.
"Yeah, I guess. I live right across the street." I said, pointing my house that was directly across the street.
"Cool."
"Yeah. So are you excited?"
"For going to school? What do you think?"
"That you would rather be in prison."
"Hell no! I've been to prison nothing's worse than that hellhole."
I stared at her with wide eyes.
"Harry I'm kidding." Vanessa rolled her eyes at me.
"Well, I wasn't sure! I mean...your a girl who rides a huge fucking motorcycle!"
Vanessa glared at me. "Shut up Styles." I did a mental high five to myself. I was hoping that she would say that.
I looked over her shoulder and saw that her mother was washing the dishes, her back facing us. I looped my arm around Vanessa and pushed her closer to me so that our noses were almost touching. I smiled an evil smile at her.
"Make me." I whispered.
After a few seconds, I swore she leaned in, I swore it. I closed my eyes and waited for her lips to meet mine but then...
"I think we should be heading to school." Vanessa said at the last second. I opened my eyes and looked at her, shocked. She looked absolutely relaxed, like I had no effect on her at all.
I frowned, backed away and headed for the driver seat of my car with her following. Just when I thought I had her...

AN:
Okay sorry for not making them kiss!! In my opinion it is much to early for that and, well, Vanessa's walls are still very much up. She won't be kissing him anytime soon. Next chapter is my favorite and I'm going to dedicate it to some of the characters that you will meet in that chapter... OMG I'm so excited to write about Vanessa's school experience! It will be long though so be prepared!
Love you all!
