AT THE CLINIC

"Are you sure you're okay? Hindi ka na ba nahihirapang huminga?" - Ari.

"Naku!

"Let's just torture her." said Jea.

Jeanella Gaycele Sandejas, my ice queen best friend, becomes caring when it comes to my health.

Arabella Mignonette Montañez, my very caring and loving friend, wala atang masamang tinapay babaeng 'to.

"I told you, it was just a mild attack.

But I guess I thought wrong. WAIT!

Did I just call myself weird?! Aish!

Kaya ayoko na ma-leak ang identity ko. One wrong move, one simple mistake and it's gonna cost me my whole high school life. I can kiss my happy life goodbye.

I can still remember what happened when I was still in elementary school. Everyone knew who I was. They knew my family background. Worse, they knew how much I was worth.

FLASHBACK:

Dahil nga only girl ako sa bahay, I was treated like a princess, either at home or at school.

I enjoyed every attention that I got, pero never akong naging brat. Spoiled man, pero hindi inaaway ang classmates ko out of the blue. I'm friends with everyone. From our maids at home, to the house boys, gardeners, even the guards and drivers, lahat sila ka-close ko.

That I was raised well by my parents. I just laugh at them when they say they want me to be their daughter.

"Mommy, I'm going to school now." I entered my parents' room at nakita kong inaayos ni Mommy ang necktie ni Daddy. I kissed both their cheeks.

"Bye, Dad."

"Be good at school." Kiniliti ako ni Dad.

"I'm always good and behaved at school, Dad. I'm a good girl, remember?" sabi ko then smiled sweetly. "And I play nicely with my classmates. Wala po akong inaaway ni isa."

"We know that, Sweetie." my mom hugged me tight and kissed my forehead before pulling my sweater closed.

It's spring here in Japan and still a bit cold. Dito na 'ko ipinanganak at lumaki. Though paminsan-minsan we go to the Philippines para bisitahin yung iba naming relatives doon.

It's not really like a typical rich family that I have. Laging andyan sina Mommy at Daddy, minsan na rin si Kuya - if he visits every vacation nya, they always make time for me. Pag may school recitals ako sa piano, choir or violin, they always watch me perform.

"By the way Dad, where's grandpa?" tanong ko kay Daddy nang naayos na ni Mommy yung sweater and scarf ko.

"He's in the library. Don't disturb him, medyo-" lumabas na agad ako ng room. "-busy sya".
