After bathtub, everyone started clearing out. The party was much quieter. Many people were passed out, sleeping on the floor. I stumbled around the drinks table, and began clearing up. Suddenly, I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Mona?" Jess stood behind me. I spun around and glared at her.
"I'm Jess, Aaron's ex-"
"Yeah, I know. What do you want?" I interrupted.
"Um, well, it's Aaron. We never broke up," she admitted.
"But, he said-"
"I know, he lied," she looked down.
"But why?" I quizzed, my head starting to spin.
"I don't know. I came over to visit him, as a surprise, and I saw you two, and I had to tell you. I'm sorry."
I couldn't breathe. Why would Aaron lie? I felt dizzy, and I couldn't speak. I could vaguely see Aaron staring at me. He sauntered away when I saw him.
"Mona?" I heard Jess distantly.
All of a sudden, I vomited.
"Let's get you upstairs," she held me and took me up the stairs into the bathroom.
In the bathroom, a very drunk Lauren laid in the bathtub, a reddish puddle at the bottom, from the game earlier.
"Mona!" She cried upon seeing my face. She wasn't moving at all, and was constantly giggling. "Hello!" She waved at Jess.
I sat on the closed toilet seat, while Jess filed through the different bottles in my medicine cabinet. She took some and shook them into her hand, before handing them to me.
"thank you," I said before downing them. She sat on the side of the bath, just above where Lauren was laying. After sitting for a few minutes in comfortable silence, Aaron burst through the door. Everyone stared at him.
"You bitch," he spat at Jess. "We were broken up, you lying slut!"
"We weren't! Later on that evening, you were messaging me, telling me how much you loved me!" Tears began to well in Jess' eyes.
"Aaron, is this true?" I jumped up.
"No! Well, yes, but-"
"You dick!" I slapped him, before sitting back down. He felt his face. His cheek was bright red.
"You did this!" He exclaimed accusingly, wagging his finger at Jess.
"I did nothing!" She defended herself.
"You, you slag!" He cried before raising his empty glass beer bottle above his head. He swung it down, aiming it at Jess, but she moved out of the way. Instead, it forcefully hit the intoxicated Lauren's head, broken glass flying across the room. She let out a piercing scream as her eyes flickered shut, and blood began spilling out of her head. Aaron looked around, before running out of the room. I screamed. Lauren laid with her eyes shut, blood rapidly pouring out of her wounded head. Tears began to violently roll down my face, as I shook her vigorously.
"Wake up!" I screamed over and over again, my gears falling onto her red-stained hair.
"Someone call an ambulance!" Jess screeched, pulling out her own phone.
"Lauren, please!" I exclaimed, my voice shaky, and my vision blurry.
"Mona, let's get you somewhere else," Jess began to escort me out of the room.
"I can't leave her," I protested, holding Lauren's limp hand.
"Mona, you have to,"
"No!" I screeched, as I was dragged out.
Eventually the ambulances arrived. Their sirens wailed through the night, cutting the empty silence like a sharp knife. I watched from the window as they wheeled her into the vehicle, with an oxygen mask over her mouth. There was a pool of blood in the the bath, and broken glass all over the bathroom.
