It was Tuesday, I was going into school today.
"Are you sure you're well enough?" My mother asked.
"We don't want you to be sick for your party on Saturday," my father continued, concerned.
"I'll be fine," I replied as I grabbed a chocolate breakfast bar.
"If you're sure," they closed the cupboard behind me.
"Love you," I called as Lauren and I left.
As we walked to school eating our breakfast, Lauren asked me a question.
"Why didn't you go in yesterday?"
"I felt ill, you saw," I felt guilty lying to her.
"Mona, if you're ill, you bear it. Why didn't you go in?"
"Ugh, fine. It's Aaron," I started.
"What did he do? Do I need to murder him?" She interrupted.
"Oh, God, no. I think we're going out," I replied uneasily.
"You think?" Lauren was as confused as me.
"I think," I looked at her, and she shrugged. At school, Jen was there, surprisingly early, without Dani and Daniella. She still had the short skirt and the thick eyebrows, but without her minions, she looked lonely.
"Hi," I said.
"Um, hi. Mona right?" She half-smiled.
"So, I'm having a party for my birthday, a week Saturday," I began.
"Am I invited?" She rose.
"I'm not a tease. I live in the villa," I replied and sat down. After uniform check, I had maths. As Lauren wasn't in my class, I usually sat on my own in the back corner, but today, Aaron sat next to me.
"Hey," he smirked as he sat down.
"Hi," I whispered as Mrs. Turner came in.
"Morning class," she said with a smile. Mrs. Turner was a plump, jolly woman, in her 40s. She was always happy and saw the best in everyone. She was one of my favourite teachers in the school.
"I have your test results," she began walking around the room with a was of paper. She placed two down on our desk.
"Well done Mona. See me after class Aaron," she said with a smile as she walked away again, placing tests on everyone's desks. Everyone was groaning and laughing- they had clearly done bad. I turned mine over. 48/55. A*. Aaron turned his around. 4/55. F.
"Well, I'm screwed," he laughed. After maths, I had drama. We were working in small groups to recreate a Shakespeare play, and at at the end of the term, we would put them together to show as a play. Me, Lauren and Aaron were performing Anthony and Cleopatra as it was one of my favourites, and the other two didn't know any others.
"I don't see why we couldn't have done something easier," Lauren complained.
"Like what?" I asked.
"I don't know, like that McDonalds one, I don't know what it's called," Lauren giggled.
"You mean Macbeth," I laughed.
"Yeah that one. Why can't we do that one?" She pouted.
"Because everyone's already doing that one," I replied, and went into first position. After first break, I began walking to science. Lauren went to her class with her other friend, Katie.
"Mona," I felt Aaron grab my arm. The electric currents shot through my body again.
"I've been exploring," he said, "come with me."
"I've got science in 6 minutes," I frowned.
"And?" He acted as if truanting wasn't a big deal.
"Aaron I'm not bunking,"
"Please," he begged.
"No!" I walked off to science, only to find that my teacher was off ill, so we had a free lesson. When a teacher was ill, instead of a supply, we had a free lesson to revise or go into another class. No one ever did.
"Aaron," I called as I ran into him. "I have a free lesson."
"Great," he smiled, and grabbed my hand. We walked down the hall together, swinging arms. We sneak into the hall, and walked through a doorway. In the doorway was a flight of stairs.
"Aaron where are we going?" I was scared.
"Trust me," he smiled as he looked into my eyes. We started running up the stairs and I ran up after him. At the top of the stairs, we walked through another door into a large hall.
"Woah," I gasped. It was beautiful. I think Aaron had already been up here, as a blanket was sprawled across the floor and there were fairy lights all across the walls. I think this was the schools bell tower, where they used to ring the bells from, not where the actual bells were.
"Do you like it?" He asked.
"Yes!" I exclaimed, and he beamed. I pulled him into a hug, and we sat down.
"How did you find this?" I asked.
"I went exploring, I guess," he replied. Pulling two cans of cola out of his bag. I popped the tab and took a swig. We drank our cokes and chatted for a while.
"Thank you," he said.
"For what?" I was confused, he planned all of this, not me.
"For making me feel better. I felt so crap after Samantha, and you made feel worth something again, so thank you," he smiled.
"Awww," I said and pulled him into a hug, that turned into a kiss, and I could feel the currents. Flowing and flowing through my body, faster and faster.
"I think I'm in love with you Mona," he giggled.
"Don't be dramatic," I laughed, and kissed him again.
"Be honest," he held my hands and looked at me in the eyes.
"I think I love you too," I smiled.
