Lily is a normal, 17 year old girl living in Sydney, Australia. She has a big group of friends and a long term boyfriend, Jack. Lily and Jack's relationship never went swimmingly. Jack was the most popular boy in her school whereas Lily was classed as a 'popular nerd', wanting the good grades to get into university, but was popular within her school. Jack had a bad history with girls, dating them for a bit, sleeping with them, and dropping them. He promised that Lily had changed him. Lily's best friend knew differently. Luke Hemmings was Lily's best friend and had been ever since she moved to Sydney from California. He knew what Jack was doing behind Lily's back but never told Lily as he didn't want to hurt her and get the blame for their relationship ending. Luke has loved Lily ever since she moved to Sydney but she has no idea. He knows Jack is no good for Lily but Jack acts like a good boyfriend when deep down, he's not.
