"What took you so long?" my mother shouted as soon as I locked the front door behind myself.

"I don't know maybe my lack of athleticism or was it your lack of help?" I muttered in reply.

"What was that?"

"Nothing, I said nothing,"

Trudging up the stairs I took in my room that was oddly reminiscent of a lemon meringue pie. Lemon yellow walls bare except for a large unfilled picture frame and bland vanilla trim skirting the tops of the walls. Cardboard boxes surrounded the outskirts of the room all marked in some way with my name. My dad had already set up my queen sized bed and dresser within my room, one less thing for me to do. With a loud sigh I collapsed on the bed and allowed the heavy teddy bear that was sleep smother me into nothingness.

"Alexa you slept through dinner and missed a phone call from our neighbors," my mother shouted awakening me from my sleepy bliss.

"What did they say?"

"Their son invited you on a tour of Atlanta which I thought would be just perfect considering you've been moping around the place,"

"And you said what exactly?" I asked growing increasingly impatient with her vague replies.

"Yes, of course. Isn't this swell you're not even here for a week and you're already making friends,"

"You said yes to a stranger taking me around Atlanta,"

"Well, honey he's not a complete stranger his mother said that you and him had a conversation when you dropped off our fruit basket,"

"Mom who exactly is taking me on this so called tour?"

"Oh totally forgot to mention his name is Kyle Dunning and he said he was picking you up noon,"

"Mom you do realize that it is 11 now when were you going to tell me that I had to leave at noon?"

"Didn't I just tell you?" with a frustrated moan I flung my bed sheets on the floor and headed towards the bathroom. A record 5 minutes later and I was squeaky clean and struggling to rake a brush through the gnarly mess that was my curly hair. Somehow I still believed there was a chance he had forgotten that I would be able to wiggle out of the tangled web Kyle had spread for me, but to my dismay the doorbell rang at 12 o'clock sharp.

Author's note:

This chapter gave me a lot of trouble, but don't worry I am going to have a posting schedule of every Sunday and since I missed last Sunday expect a double post if I get at least 2 comments. Also do you like the new cover I made? I don't want to change it just yet until everyone sees it first. :)
