I watched the last cardboard box disappear into the U-Haul. The pain of our 2,470 mile move finally setting in. I looked back at our humble beachfront home. My best friend, Caroline Evans, tears rolling out of her eyes.
Gawd I hate this...
Willing back tears I said "Caro don't forget me mkay? Remember your coming over this summer."
One quick hug later I was inside the car. Buckled into a new unwanted life away from California.
I watched as our home and Caroline slowly disappeared a small dot on the horizon.
