I woke up to sheets being yanked off me. Being exposed to the bright and shining sun made my eyes squint which resulted in an annoyance groan.

I covered my face, turning onto the opposite side of the bed.

"Can you stop", I whined, being half awake.

I turned onto my stomach trying to shield the light from my presence, hoping Ty would leave me alone and let me go back to sleep.

"You already know how I am. Get up. I made breakfast". He said as I heard his footsteps left the room.

When I used to stay with him before I moved to college, he always used to wake me up early and make me breakfast. It's something not to complain about since I'm being offered free food, but it does involve me doing the dishes.

I watched him as he ate; which resulted in me reminiscing about our old times being together. Whenever we went out, I was like a little lost puppy compared to him. Ty knows everybody, and has a lot connections; which is also the reason why he knows he can't trust anyone. Not even his friend Josh that came by yesterday. People seems to trust him though. But as they say, the more people that knows you, the more enemies you make.

Now me on the other hand, I can say I'm similar to Ty.  In the streets, I'm Sofia or Chris, but my government name is Christina.

Being around Ty can bring danger into your life. He has a lot of friends that turned into enemies, and the people around him always get hurt. But now, everything seems calm. Nothing seems rushed, like we're on the run or something. It was all chill, which felt weird for me because around Ty, nothing can ever be "chill".

The smell of pancakes, eggs and bacon on my plate brought me back to reality.

I looked down at the plate in confusion. "I don't like bacon, remember?"

Ty shrugged and took it from my plate "More for me".

I took a look at my surroundings again, and everything seemed in place. A bit too in place.

"What's wrong?" Ty asked, blanking me out of my thoughts.

"Nothing...I was just looking at your place." I said low chewing on my food.

Ty just shrugged and left the room because he had gotten a call.

As soon as I took a sip of my juice, I felt a smack on my back, causing me to choke, and spill the juice out of my mouth.

"I'll see you later", Ty said. "Make yourself comfortable, but not too comfortable" he eyed me suspiciously.

I just nodded, and watched him head out the door. I waited about 20 minutes before I made around his house.

The house was too quiet for me, so I turned on the TV for some background noise.

Upon hearing the television, the news was on about a girl that went missing 6 months ago by the name Jadah Allen, has just been recently found dead.

I sat quietly in my corner as my wrist were chained to a pipe. A girl a few feet away from looked drained and worn out.

"Hey", I called out. "What's your name?"

"I'm not here to make friends" the girl coughed and leaned her head against the wall.

I shrugged and looked ahead, trying to make sense of what's down the hallway.

"My names Jadah Allen", she said in annoyance.

"What's yours?" Jadah asked me.

"Christina." I replied. "But you can call me Chris".

"No last name?" Jadah asked.

"No need to know my last name", I said bluntly.

"What if something happens to you, and one of us escapes?" She asked.

Nothing's gonna happen to me.

I remember the few conversations Jadah and I had. Some of them were pleasant. Sad to see she ain't make it.

The news reported that Jadah's body was found dumped in an old dumpster behind an old auto-shop. I shook my head in disbelief, feeling grateful to be alive because that could've been me.

I reverted my attention to the sound of a cell phone ringing.

The caller ID was a private number that stopped after three rings.

Without thinking, I reached to pick it up, but quickly hung back up as soon as I realized what I done.
